Vatican City and his obscure affairs with Italy (and the rest of the world) during the CW also in game? Eheh

Ok my idea with this thread is just that I ALWAYS want to play as the pope so idc I still want the pope in game no matter what. That is why I admit it is a dumb idea but I still want my Pope and that is all. I will never be happy with CK2 until I can play as the papcy either ><

If you had a vatican province with a tiny_province malus on it to give it half or a quarter the output of a regular province then you could have it as a one province state.

That might be the way to go for people who want the silliest countries represented. Personally, I don't think they matter.
I would love to see something dealing with Sealand, maybe some minor event. For flavor.
EDIT: Oh, that really makes me want to play a micronation strategy game! The goal would be to go from one person (or one person and their family) to an internationally-recognized nation, and it would play like a business simulator. You might start out as something silly, like Molossia, then go to a de facto independent country like Sealand, and end up with international recognition by major world nations.

That system if it ever existed, would be good to serious representation of things like abzharia or trans-dniestr, maybe even palestine or taiwan.
To represent states that de facto exist, but dont have international recognition. To allow them to crawl out of minority and gain the rights of nationhood from the international community.
Wouldn't work for the Holy See though, as its already legally a nation in the eyes of pretty much every nation.
The Holy See issue is one of being smaller than provinces will be, so if it was to be represented some mechanic for ultra-small provinces would be needed.
But illegitimate nation status wouldnt have anything to do with it. Although there are a great many serious applications for such a mechanic.
Maybe make all break-away nations from nationalist revolts have to go through the steps of gaining the recognition of a patron great or secondary power then gain the recognition of the UN to have full nation status and be able to join blocks and be protected from reconquest/restore order CBs against them.

There should be a mechanic for NGOs of which the Holy See would be one. Developmental aid organisations and Charities might be others. You also have things like the Knights of St. John, Anglican communion, Amnesty International, Greenpeace...
In response to Orinsul, I would expect some mechanics for international recognition.

I fail to see how playing Vatican City in a game like this could be fun.
