    No big/small ships?

Mouse over their Tariffs, as well as your Tariff income in the coat of arms menu, and check what their income modifiers are. I'm guessing it's no big/small ships ("sea lane efficiency").

No, you need at least as many as you have colonies to avoid penalties.

Yes, only big and small ships count, NOT galleys or transports.

I got a question about things liek that. I'm only 4 years away from haveing my first cores in north Amrica(just northwest of Florida). I also took over the Zapotec/Maya territory, both of those land are also full converted. Just 3 years ago I took the first 5 out of 9 provinces up northm and will take the last 4 when the truce runs out, The 5 I got have forts, but I'm haveing a bad luck when it comes to converting them.

What I'm thinking is, when I core I will get colonial range for wherever I want. So my question is: would you first try to connect the midle region to the norther region first?(2 colonies needed), connect the middle region to the souther region, (5-6 colonies needed), or would you just got for the islands to stop Castille/Portugal from grabbing them?

Portugal discovered Sotuh america by sea, but no land provices so far they got range, but got no money, high WE and is rather preoccupied in Europe atm. Castille discovered both the Island, south america and a bit down Africa. Got range for all of Africa, the provinces in modern day Brazil, but lacks 2-3 naval tech lvls to get range for the first carribian island.

Oh and the years is january 1987, My cores comes around in december 1990.
