    APD 3.0.8 download/feedback (for AHD v2.31 only)

    Checksum ABYV


    1) Go and buy a copy of AHD.
    2) install it over your copy of V2.
    3) Patch it to 2.31
    4) Download APD 3.0.8.
    5) Delete any existing mod folders before installing.
    6) Extract the zip to your Victoria 2\Mod folder.
    7) Go to the My Documents\Paradox Interactive\Victoria 2\PDM folder and delete the map cache there.
    8) Fire up the launcher, select 'A POP Divided' from the bottom-left menu, and press 'play'.

    RGO oversupply should hopefully have been reduced a lot for this one. I'm also toying with the idea of making factories require more workers; It'll help make poor craftsmen actually poor, without changing profit margins etc. Not sure what that'll do to the RGO market, tho, so I've avoided it for now.

    I'm new to APD/PDM.
    Is money abundance WAD?
    I begin as Greece and with little colonial expansion have about +300/day (without techs and with 100% education, bureaucracy and stockpile funding).

    Money's worth about 1/10th as much in APD, so that works out more like 30/day in vanilla terms.

    How do I change state capitols? Some capitols could be in better locations, i.e. Illinois and Indiana.

    Yes, but in AHD vanilla I had great deficits in such case.

    Re-order the province numbers in region.txt in the map folder. The first number in the list is the SC.

    Yes; that was mostly because Greece had no hope in hell of affording it's initial fleet in vanilla - which could be considered a bug. My hands are kind of bound by the AI, sadly; if I make the economy tough for a human player, the AI suffers mass bankruptcies.

    For the tech-illiterate, is there an easy way to "disable" the newly-incorporated river mod? It seems to break when running the game via Wine, and I'd really rather not be cut off from all future versions of the mod.

    delete rivers.bmp from the map folder in the V2\mod\PDM folder.

    Why on Earth would the Rivers mod break your game?, it's just a bitmap file like the other one. Unless of course PDM is using a different provinces map, then there could be incompatibilities.

    The gateway to america modifier gives New York ten times more population growth than it should. The line "population_growth = 0.002" has ten times the effect of "global_pop_growth = 0.002" in land of opportunity. As a result, New York grows at a rate of around 30% yearly. WAD?

    WINE (WINE Is Not an Emulator) works in mysterious ways. I can't use the launcher either, so I have to launch the game from terminal with a few arguments to make it load the mod.

    I've learned not to question it too much. Game with rivers won't start, game without rivers will. Conclusion: Better off without it.

    Yup, the general approach in IT departments is 'kill anyone who wants to use WINE or a Mac'. We DO use a different province.bmp file, as it happens (very minor alterations), but that almost certainly has nothing to do with it; WINE just doesn't like the file.

    The Dutch Surrender event is still bugged. The second option leads to a crash. Anybody know how to fix it (or what it's supposed to do for that matter)?

    Are you talking about the "Let us demand concessions" option? I don't see anything wrong with the coding... I'd need a save game from before the event fires to properly debug it. Might be something odd with your particular situation in the game, it's hard to say.

    That's nice, but I still can't debug the issue without a save. I'll take a quick look at it, though, and see if it's something obvious I've missed.
