    SOV AI - how do i get them to keep strategic reserves

    Has anyone managed to get the soviets to keep strategic reserves and not just mass their troops on the borders without using locked divisions?

    My first AAR playing as Germany using the AoD Third Reich Mod - currently reached August 1945: postponed

    Well, i was asking for specific settings that actually work - the soviet AI keeps massing their troops on the front if i declare war on them, and after the encirclements about 60-75% of their army is destroyed.

    You'll have to edit the Soviet AI file that is triggered when it's at war, use the 'revealai' or whatever its called to see what file that is.

    And btw this is what happened historicly. They were actually grouped by the border. Wehrmacht or killed or captured over 3,5 mln soviet troops by 5th December 1941.

    Yeah, but IRL the soviets were able to draft 175 Divs from 22jun41 to 5dec41 - this is not possible in the game. Also, the STAVKA reserve was a considerable force and held back as strategic reserve.

    Not exactly "reserves" parameter. You might also want to increase min/max garrison parameters (one of the first ones).
