My brothers I stand before you with a message...
I have seen the light. A new age is upon us... Those of you who are so lucky to have enjoyed the great pioneering works of Nightraider and Death6 will be convinced, as I am, that a revolution is coming to AARland. Using the humblest of means even the worst orator can now voice their message in the most accessible of formats in a level of detail that was previously inconceivable.
I urge you, my friends, not to turn away from this so called 'heresy' in disgust but rather to whole-heartedly embrace the new ways. I have stoically battled through the wind and the rain of Google search in my struggle to acquire a copy of fraps and a YouTube account. Having now achieved this I can declare to you that I am now enlightened, my findings are indeed astonishing, and far beyond my expectations... This '21st Century technology' enables me to record my extremely mediocre gameplay and completely incoherent commentary in a fraction of the time and effort that the old methods would require.
Forsake the old traditions... Cast aside your near Medieval methods of pen and paper and just like the printing press did 500 years ago we shall, together, usher in a new era of modernity.
Joking aside...
As you can probably tell I am yet another person joining the growing community of those producing video AARs. Feeling pretty inspired by Death6's fantastic Hakko Ichiu and Nightraider's previous games as Germany I fancied having a shot at it myself. Having always fanatically followed HoI 'let's plays' and AARs on YouTube and more conventional ones on the forums, I have always longed to achieve something similar myself and there is no better time than now.
I'm hoping to eventually record a 'series' for every major and perhaps some more significant minors but for now I'm keeping my sights low. I have actually recorded and uploaded 12 episodes (12 hours of play) of my current series before attempting to advertise my AAR here so that I'm already in full swing by the time that you read this.
This thread, therefore, is pretty much both to selfishly promote my AAR and to also discuss and come up with suggestions for whats actually happening for my videos.
Before you all go charging off I would like to put out some disclaimers as such...
- Firstly I don't consider myself to be a good player so don't expect endless destruction and flawless play.
- Secondly I know I ramble a great deal but its part of my personality and I am trying very hard to control this (I calm down alot once war starts anyway).
- Thirdly, for all my enthusiasm I am pretty much illiterate when it comes to technology... Any advice on how to edit, and manage my videos would be greatly appreciated.
- Lastly... If you don't like my videos I will hunt you down and give you a harshly worded note expressing my displeasure.
