Game crashes while trying to create a new character

Just got my beta key. Every time I try to enter the game, I click create new character, and the game crashes. Tried restarting and running as administrator.

    Error message:

Wrong forum, bud. Register your beta key in your Paradox 'my games' and use the tech report forum.

As for your error, this is most likely because of bad video card drivers. 1280 is an unfixable error on the client side, and it has to do with bad openGL support. The best thing you can do is check your video card drivers for updates and hope it works.

I was getting this on my netbook that has a Intel mobile 945gm express chipset, and the only way I fixed it was by updating from windowsXP to windows7 and downloading new(er) drivers for it. It worked fine after that.
