The Napoleonic wars had some of the best military marches ever made. A game just won't feel 'Napoleonly' enough for me without La Victoire Est A Nous and the likes.

Will it be possible to make nation specific soundtracks like in HOI3?

Same composer of previous Paradox games I hope!!! :D

Military marches are expensive unless the army just happens to let you rent their band on the cheap. Think how many people must play instruments in a military band.

Dont get me wrong, but whats to stop you from turning all game sounds completely off (if you dont like them) and then play whatever music you prefer in the background?

Thats what ive been doing for the past few years with pretty much all paradox games.

To each their own, but for me it is just not the same thing. Besides having game logic that can those the appropriate score at certain points of the game, hunting around on the internet for it myself results in audio files of varied quality and levels.

EDIT: Why are all the other treads in this forum locked for me?

There's been a change in development (PDX is now doing the game on its own in full) and all threads from before that change have been closed as no longer relevant.

What, even the thread announcing that Paradox are taking over production?

Why not? It's an announcement. It is what it is. We've moved on since: the forum and game name have been changed since. If you still want to say something about it, by all means, but it pretty much is a closed issue.

Maybe you could add some actual period historical pieces as well, as I can't imagine that they're copyrighted.
The pieces might not be, but the performances will be.

I think Paradox has shown it can come up with great music when they release a game.

Also: period music. *snickers*
