Wow, Austria-Hungary is actually winning WWI. That's impressive! Are you sure it's wise to withdraw the Ottoman army from the Balkans? The treacherous Greeks could stab you in the back at any moment!

France 22.5%

Methinks THAT is going to be a big factor on the western front! Good progress, although it is annoying that Romania is still holding out in their capital like they are, and that the Russians are still a pretty formidible foe, despite their quickly approaching revolution...

When do the Russians disengage? And does the game simulate troops being needed in the interior to fight the revolution/counter-revolution, or is Russia being wracked by revolution just the same as Russia with 25% dissent

That Romania is really annoying, in real life they would be crushed the moment they were cut off from Russia.

I'd assume that soon, the Bolsheviks will start their civil war and then all hell will break loose.

Well, A-H's dissent is going to grow a lot during 1917 and especially 1918 :p

In real life 'Romania' proper was conquered during the winter of 1916-1917, but the Romanians stopped the Central Powers' advance in Bessarabia... I suppose German AI has been too eager on the Western Front in this game, so they couldn't transfer enough troops to deal with Romania :)

Here's to hoping Germany can get out of those trenches and capture Paris soon.

Hmm...Great Turkic Reunification? I mean, you know, Turkey and Turkestan, as one. If you think you can pull this off and unite All The Turks, do it! It'd be extremely glorious.

You need concept forces on caucasus region, not on north Persia

Enver Pasha grows tired of waiting for the Ottoman expansion in Central Asia. He orders field marshal Liman von Sanders to come up with a plan for an invasion, and prefably pocketing a reasonable amount of Russian forces in the Caucasus. The plan is risky, for the Caucasian mountains aren't the easiest terrain for offensives.

Even the red arrows look like the wildest fantasies of the Ottoman Empire, but when countries collapse in this game, they collapse big time.

Thats definitely a very ambitious goal there, especially for First World War era forces. Lots of rough ground, and unless the Russians collapse, you are probably gonna be in for quite a hard time.

Then there is what will happen if you reach the borders of the Indian Raj, I wouldn't be surprised if the British left alot of troops there which could be turned against you.

BTW, how strong is your army by now anyway? How many divisions do you have? How much stronger is your military compared to how it was at the beginning of the war? I can't remember if you have already discussed it...

He already borders British India south of Iran, and Russia doesn't border India at all :p

Chapter XXXI. Awakening of the Goliath

April 30th, 1917
Despite their efforts and multiple offensives, the Central Powers could not knock Romania out of the war during April. Encircled by the Central Powers, the Romanians are now fighting for their lives as the Serbs before them. Due to mutual disrespect and disagreement amongst the Romanian and Russian General Staffs, the Romanian front started to collapse soon after the declaration of war. In spite of early mistakes though, the Romanian forces are holding their ground in order to protect Bucharest as long as possible. Hasan Izzet Pasha, as well as Ismail Enver Pasha, has several times attempted to break through the Romanian lines, but the offensives have always failed, leaving thousands and thousands of more dead soldiers on the field. The Ottoman Army tried to advance in the Caucasian Front but the Russian counterattack shattered the Ottoman lines for a bit, luckily General Kress von Kressenstein managed to hold the ground, so both Ottoman and Russian offensives failed. Yet again Enver Pasha had underestimated the resilience of the Russians.

On the 1st of May, the Foreign Secretary of the German Empire, Arthur Zimmermann, dispatched a coded telegram, seeking a possible alliance with Mexico if the US were to enter the war on the Entente side. The Germans also promised financial support to Mexico, but this could not have been possible due to the British blockade. Declaring war to the United States would have been futile, as the Mexican Army was already busy with the Civil War and it would be unable to match the US military. Thus the German proposal was ignored and rejected.

Because the British had cut the puny German undersea cable line, the Germans had to use the British ones to send the message to Mexico. British Intelligence intercepted the message and passed it over to the United States. The telegram outraged American public opinion.

Just two days after the revelation of the telegram, the United States of America went to war. May God be with us.

State of the Army

The Central Powers' combined army is huge but as the United States joined the war, the Entente Army will most likely grow a lot bigger than ours. (A-H is a German puppet, so they've sent expeditionary forces to Germany and most of their divisions simply became German)

(Motorized = Reserve infantry, Mech = Guard infantry, Paratroop = Light infantry)

Since the beginning of the war, all Ottoman Infantry divisions are of Infantry 1912 or higher (only three divisions are infantry of 1915). All the cavalry divisions are Cavalry 1915 etc. The Army is stronger than ever, but still it may not win the British or the French in open terrain battle.

On the 13th of May, General Mustafa Kemal Pasha joined the battle of Iasi. With the Russians pushed out of Bessarabia, there will be no hope for Romania. The Russians were no match for the Central Powers' forces. Right before victory could be achieved, Romanian reinforcements arrived in the field. The commanding officer, Field Marshal von Bülow (Fortress Buster, Urban Warfare Specialist, Ranger, Hills Fighter, Ambusher), is confident of German victory in Iasi. At 17:00 on the 16th of May, the Russians were beaten.

Yeesh, you better get the Russians out as soon as possible. Pretty grim stuff.

The Americans are really gonna be a game changer....

Good luck, the odds are stacking more and more against you.
