    A question to the fort attack value

    Thank you all very much for the great work creating a POP demand mod! :-)

    Before playing I have question to the fort attack value of an infantry unit I found in PDM/units/infantry.txt

    Code:
    	#Land Abilties
    	reconnaissance = 1
    	attack = 1
    	defence = 1
    	discipline = 0.6
    	support = 0.0
    	maneuver = 2

    	fort = {
    		defence = 0.25
    	}
    }
    How does that defence value of 0.25 work? Is it a defence value that cumulates for each level of fort or is it a common percentage value?

    Thank you.
    My favorite leader trait combinations:

    Vic 2 - Personality: yellow. Background: megalomaniac. Result: Attack: -6 , Morale: -40%
    HoI2 - Panzer Leader, Commando, Old Guard
    (*not to be taken too seriously*)

    It's just a common % value. We can't do it per level.
    For every subtle and complicated question, there is a simple and straightforward answer, which is wrong.

    But it is very good that somebody found out Paradox forgot to implement this important value at all. :-)

    It is really embarrassing to see that the attack value of 40% when attacking a fort regarding engineer units in vanilla version is useless, as this bonus is only for the engineer unit (not for the hole army like the manual says, the engineer is in) and the fact that an engineer unit is weaker than a guard unit makes engineers needless...

    IMO it is a bug form Paradox that there is no bonus per level.

    *** EDIT: Is this bug still included in AHD?

    Fort's reduce casualties in vanilla (and PDM, for that matter) by 10% per level; it effectively increases Military Tactics score in that province by 10% per level. We added in the terrain and fort bonuses to try and differentiate between units a bit more.

    I'm assuming it reduces casualties 10% per level for defense. Is there any increase for the attacker?

    Okay, thanks ... benefits are just for the defender then.

    Here's a follow-up question. Suppose your province is being sieged. You then enter your area where there is an existing fort and a battle commences. Since the battle is occurring and you are besieged, do you get the defense fort benefit?
