So now Graf Robert von Ulrich shows what is behind this betrayal! For his own lust for power has he split this nation in two and hurled us into the carnage of war. He aims to crown himself despot of our great cultured nation, and thus reduce us to the level of the Asiatic hordes! Do not permit him to do so, Germans! He does not care for you, he does not hear your pleas. He is, for his power hunger, accepting all casualties that will arise from this conflict. He apparently does not treasure the lifes of his supporters and of the frontline soldiers, for if he did, would he have risked putting thousands upon thousands of them in the grim reaper's palm? If he did, would he have split this great nation of ours, would he have separated brother from brother and father from son, a crime of the direst degree, knowing all the time that under his leadership all ordinary Germans would not be better off than they are now and than they were before he stabbed his bloody dagger into this nation's pure heart? If he indeed cared for the German people and their well-being, would he have risked destroying their livelihoods, knowing full well that his hope of victory is but a slim sliver on the horizon, and that our victory is as assured as the sun's rise in the east?
I will not shield you from the truth, my highly honoured countrymen. There may be dark days ahead, and many a time may we face a temporary setback before we can march on to victory. There may be great tragedies waiting for us in the mists of time, hidden from view as of yet but revealed as we approach and confront them; great men, and honest and honourable men that find themselves on the wrong side of this conflict may fall in defence of their Kaiser. Indeed, many will fall if the so-called Confederation continues on this path of madness, and many homes will be destroyed if the rebels continue in their lunacy. But we will fight for König and Kaiser, we will fight for the German Empire! And as God is with us, as he had been with the Old Fritz in the dark hours of 1759 and 1762, we will prevail. We will prevail! For how can you fall with Old Fritz's ghost to guide your sword, and Barbarossa's strength to reinforce your shield? How can you fail when Karl der Große aids you, and how can you fail when Fürst Hermann and Widukind strengthen your armour? How can we fail, good Germans, in this most unnatural struggle of all, thrown upon us by the French-controlled rebels, when the greats of the past aid us? We cannot fail! We cannot fail, and therefore I say: March with me! March with me unto the gates of Königsberg! March with me, sons of Germany, and we will prevail!
-Generalmajor Herzog Karl Heinrich von Falkenberg
