I immediately withdraw from the Social Democratic Party. If such a party chooses to support a military coup, then I have no place in it. I hereby express my desire to stand as an independent in the true Reichstag, that of the German Empire. Furthermore, I call on all workers of the occupied lands to strike, and bring an end to this right-wing power grab.

OOC: I don't even get a choice in who I support? Why the hell would the SPD support a military coup?

Mr Andersen, I thank you for your support in this dark time along with all other members of the Reichstag who supported me. I would also like to announce that the Reichstag and the Imperial Family and Government will be moving to a temporary capital in Frankfurt-am-Main as Berlin is very close to the front. I however will remain in Berlin to fight alongside the members of the Imperial Guard and Imperial German Army who have stayed loyal to their Kaiser. I will not abandon them in this time of trouble. I also wish to announce that should I fall in the fighting my brother, Prince Henry, will assume the Throne. I echo the calls for mobilization. We may have less of the regular Army then the rebels but we have the population centers and, more importantly, we have the German people. Deutschland über alles!

His Imperial and Royal Majesty, Wilhelm II, German Emperor and King of Prussia

" It has become Clear by his most foolish choice to stay Loyal to the Incompetent and Corrupt Kaiser that Hans Christian Andersen is no Longer Leader of the SPD Not least as he has resigned based on the SPD choice to prevent the creation of an absolute monarchy by the Kaiser which seems most likely as he decided to try and arrest a sizeable number of Reichstag members with no real evidence of there Guilt. I Hermann Schmidt declare myself the New leader of the SPD party unless any of my Colleagues have any reason that I should not be so. I declare full support for the Confederation Government of Von Molkte and Graf Robert Von Urlich. After this period of Chaos is over we will build a new stronger German State led by far more competent leadership than the current German Empire is. This will be a new dawn for Germany. I encourage all workers to rise up against the Kaiser for he will only opress you while The German Confederation will free you from Autocratic rule."

Hermann Schmidt Leader of the SPD

Due to the desertion of several Reichstag members the seats they held have been handed out to different parties.
50 Zentrum
40 National Liberals
25 Conservatives
20 Independents
5 Alsace-Lorraine representatives

"With all due respect, I would like to repeat my request to the Kaiser to be placed in overall command of the Imperial Navy, having had more experience than anyone else in the government, and with a lack of a naval high command."

~ Friedrich von Weiss

OOC: To be honest, I think I have the most knowledge/experience with the German Navy of this period, so hopefully we can capture/destroy the rebel navy despite the fact we're outnumbered ;)

OOC: I was never leader of the party?

OOC: According to the Front page you were.

OOC: I really never was. We voted Suir to be leader - And if I was, then it just raises even more questions as to why I had no input in being put with the military coup team.

OOC: You were a rubbish leader who didn't know what was going and when the crisis hit you dithered slightly so others acted and brought the SPD to side with the General Staff.

Hermann Schmidt Leader of the SPD

The SDP has lost all credibility aligning itself with a right wing military takeover. The Kaiser was in the right all along. It is baffling why the SDP supports the German Reich extremist who has corrupted the General Staff.

It so happened that Graf Robert Von Urlich, the leader of the German Reich Party, had bribed the German General Staff copious sums of money to work with him. When his party was to be arrested, they mobilized the Berlin Armoury to defend the Reichstag from the Imperial Guards. After the Guards attempted to arrest the men anyway, the German Army shot them all dead on the steps of the Reichstag, in the middle of Berlin.

Tyrants and rebellion! Intolerance and oppression! Chaos and Ruin! Germany, this is what the Kaiser has made our once proud empire stand for!

There once was a time, not too long ago in fact, when I was behind the Kaiser. I supported him, as all patriotic Germans who did not know of his insanity did. I regret those times sincerely. It was right then, to support the Kaiser, to support the Empire. But no longer. The empire is no longer what it once was. The mighty beast that Bismarck tended to and was a parent to no longer exists!

Tyrants and rebellion! Intolerance and oppression! Chaos and Ruin! Germany, this is what the Kaiser has made our once proud empire stand for!

The Kaiser is pushing for an Absolute Monarchy! Surely you remember those times, even if they were not in your lifetime! They were times of tyranny for those kingdoms ruled by an absolute monarch, times of fear when you didn't know who was next to be arrested on the monarch's whims. They are times that are long past-or so we thought! The Kaiser has openly said for decades now that he claims he has the 'divine right to rule'. That has always been a bit of a joke among common Germans, but now we must face the reality that he believes every word of it. He believes that he can march on wherever he wants, and that he can arrest whomever he desires, and that he has all the power of a god!

Now tell me, protestant or catholic, jewish or christian, do you think your monarch is god on earth? Because those are the powers he claims to have. The Chancellor of this government of this tyrant spouts bigotry, racism, and plain insults at the German Confederation! But let me tell you this, we do not seek to take away your religion. We do not seek to interfere with that at all. This is not about who is a catholic and who is a protestant. This is about those of Justice and Liberty throwing down the chains of a tyrant!

I myself was one of those unfortunate souls the Kaiser had targeted. He ordered my arrest, along with everybody who was in the German Reich Party! Tell me, is that what you expect from a just Kaiser who loves his people? If a Kaiser loved his people, wouldn't he have stood down from the throne and avoided this bloody civil war to come once his sins had been exposed to the word? If a Kaiser LOVED HIS PEOPLE, then wouldn't he have sought to investigate instead of automatically assuming the one who wished to overthrow him was among his people?

Tyrants and rebellion! Intolerance and oppression! Chaos and Ruin! Germany, this is what the Kaiser has made our once proud empire stand for!

The Kaiser is no longer the ruler of Germany. The German Empire is no more, thanks to the Kaiser. The pride and greatness of Germany has now been overshadowed, by the Kaiser. Tell me, why must he oppose those of us who are righteous in our ways, spilling blood? Tell me, why should you support the man who almost singlehandedly brought millions of foreigners to attack Germany? Why should YOU support a man who wishes to see the downfall of a country, a country named Germany? He has brought down our empire, but nay, he shall never collapse our Nation if we can stop him!

The Chancellor claims that we are a nation of radicals and malcontents. I must say, from a man I had held in such high respect in the past, descending to petty insults is telling. When a man descends to petty insults, which in fact are not true, then surely he must be desperate! There is no shame in banding together! We are a nation of Unity, with parties from both the right and left forming together to fight on the principle of liberty and justice! Contrary to the constant attack by the extreme center of the government, neither of us are radicals. the communists, the true radicals of the left, are banned. The Social Democrats merely wish for more equality, and reforms WILL be enacted, slowly, and on a small scale, once this civil war started by the Kaiser is over. The German Reich Party itself is not the perpetrator of this disastrous war among Germans. That would be the Kaiser and the extremist centrists that have pushed us to the brink and over the edge! We are a right wing party that wishes for Greater Germany to be beheld!

You see, the Chancellor has felt threatened by the SDP and the Reich Party ever since 1912, when our parties got so much of the vote, but he still determined to put together a minority government. He felt threatened, and he put together a government led campaign to give us dirty names and the like. And all the while he was backed by the kaiser.

Tyrants and rebellion! Intolerance and oppression! Chaos and Ruin! Germany, this is what the Kaiser has made our once proud empire stand for!

Chaos and Ruin indeed! This war shall not end with the end of hostilities! There will be reconstruction to take place, roads to be rebuilt, cities to be repaired! This war shall not end in a week or a month. This shall be a terrible war, and make no mistake in who started it: Kaiser Wilhelm II, and his Chancellor.

Tyrants and rebellion! Intolerance and oppression! Chaos and Ruin! Germany, this is what the Kaiser has made our once proud empire stand for!

We are no oligarchy, we are not the men who lust for power. I truly wish I could have stood with the Empire, I truly do. But to stand with that man who calls himself a Kaiser and that lackey of his the chancellor would have been to declare war on Germany itself! To attack the German people! And that is one thing I could not do, I could not fight WITH Tyranny. I had to choose to be against it, and germans, men and women of the Reich, join the Party that has fought so hard with words for you and take up the sword alongside us now!

Tyrants and rebellion! Intolerance and oppression! Chaos and Ruin! Germany, this is what the Kaiser has made our once proud empire stand for!

Justice and Liberty! Democracy and Equality! Order and Prosperity! Germany, this is what the German Confederation stands for! Join us, fight with us, and throw down those chains of oppression the kaiser has built into you all your life!

OOC: I'm on my phone but I will reply to that cacophony as soon as I get home.

The German government has, and prior to the Reich Party's coup had, a support of the majority of the Reichstag. To describe it as a minority government is beyond absurd. The true Socialists of Germany accepted the decision, and respected it accordingly. Those rebels that call themselves the SPD are nothing but scum in the pocket of right-wing paymasters, designed to mislead the German worker. Modern, civilised people do not resort to violence and slaughter when their demands are not met. The traitors are nothing more than barbarians.

The true nature of the "Confederation" is shown. Their "Chancellor" is nothing more than a despot, who can at will overrule is cabinet members.

Finally, I hereby establish the Deutsche Sozialdemokratische Partei (DSP), under the banner of which I shall stand in the Reichstag - so-called to represent our loyalty to the true German people, and not these charlatan rebels, who do not deserve to be called Germans.

" I humbly accept the Post of Vice Chancellor. I will make sure that the Right Wing Influence of the German Reich party is Kept under Control and that the German Confederation will give the workers a good deal. We are the True German Socialists. The DSP is nothing but a group of wannabe socialists in the Pockets of the Centralists and will betray worker interests in favour of there own goals. In this New German Government the people will ultimately be in charge not some unelected despot who is only there by birth and inheritance. We will insure that everyone gets fair deal. That is why we have formed this Emergency Government of National Unity and We are committed to Fight to the end for what is right."
