I vote Yes to both the law and the amendment, a stronger military, a stronger Deutschland, a stronger volk!

I THINK with LJ above me joining the Reich Party that the amendment just gained 3 votes and the naval bill just got 8 votes in relation to the loss of value of the members of the party who voted before he joined, and with him voting for it.

Only a few more votes! Give a vote for your vaterland! Surely you would vote for such a bill if you are a German Patriot?

Name: Erwin Schmidt
Age:40 (Born 1872)
Political Affiliation: Farmer's League
Bio: Originally the son of poor farmers, Erwin Schmidt gained notability in local politics due to his great speaking ability and his steadfast advocacy for German peasants. He quickly rose in status among the minor Farmer's League and was one of their first representatives to the Prussian Landtag, and later the Reichstag.

"I vote Yes to both bills."

~ V. Chancellor von Weiss
Minister of Justice

Graf Franz von Lanstein-Pranow
Age: 58
Party: DKP

Born into an old Junker family with roots that go back to the time of Holy Roman Emperor Otto the Great, Graf von Lanstein-Pranow served in the Imperial Cavalry and retired as an Oberst, the Graf's views are strongly monarchist and anti-socialist, however he strongly believes in the social programs of Reichkanzler von Bismarck to keep the lower classes happy, the Graf is also strongly against any aggressive war and belives war should be a last resort, or if the Kaiserreich is under threat. He has been a member of the Reichstag since 1907.

Berlin Times

BERLIN - The Government has once again failed to pass any measures by the end of the Legislative session. A recent attempt to amend the German Constitution has failed, along with the Naval Marine Unit Bill of 1914. Now that 1914 has descended upon the German Reich, we must look towards newer horizons. With the elections only three years off, the SPD have a huge lead in the polls, while many Germans simply want a working Government. Although the Budget is favourable to most Germans, thousands of Germans wish to see something other than a deadlocked country, and the only way to achieve this is by taking out all of the old parties, and giving the SPD a fair chance at running the country.

I, Kaiser Wilhelm II, due to the inability of this government to pass reforms in this troubled time hereby announce that the Reichstag will be dissolved and new elections held. Chancellor Reinhart von und zu Birkenfeld served his country well and it was simple bad luck that caused him to be have a Reichstag that would not agree on anything. The new Chancellor will be chosen after the elections.

((Umh... I would possibly be interested in joining this, maybe, could I perhaps acquire the information needed to join this little German thing? Like what do the parties stand for, what information do I need for a character, etc?))

OOC: For creating a character, you can just follow the templates people have been using.

As for parties...

From far-left to far-right

Social Democratic Party -- Centre Party -- (Independents?) -- National Liberal Party -- Progressive People's Party -- German Conservative Party -- German Reich Party

Freiherr Erich August von Hohenzollern

Party: National Liberal
Age: 22 (Born 8 May 1891)

A distant cousin of the Imperial Family, Erich lives in the lap of luxury befitting royalty. Considering himself a ‘champion of a new Deutschland,’ Erich is an avid, if somewhat naïve, supporter of the Liberals; joining the Reichstag immediately after completing his studies (attending only the finest universities in Europe), the young nobleman is ready to change Germany, and with it, the world.

He favours laissez-faire economics, general free trade (with only a few tariffs), is a staunch supporter of the German navy and a hawk in general, and open to most foreigners and other religions.

As a proper German, he holds a deep disdain for the dastardly French, and hopes fervently that the fools will feel the full fury of the ferocious Imperial forces! More practically, he supports warm relations with the British and Americans, considering them ‘Nordic brethren.’

OOC: Welcome to the party and CitR in general, Riccardo :)

((Grazie; now, we're in an election or government reforming, I take it? Do we sit back or do we campaign in some way to gain support?))

I'd like people to do some campaigning, only because if not, the SPD will win overwhelmingly.

Farmers of Germany!

The other parties may claim that they have the best intentions for you and your families, but what do they know? Most of these people have never known what it is to sow a field, to reap their crops, to be a farmer. Vote for the only party that thinks of YOU: The Farmer's League.

"The Social Democrats are the greatest threat to the German Empire! Over the course of this past year, they continually obstructed progress, voting against resolutions to expand our woefully undermanned and underfunded navy, and produced no meaningful or substantial budgetary plan. Indeed, given the reins of this nation's governance to them would be similar to draining a pool and telling the people to swim! It is also apparent that some of the socialists are more interested in acting or writing than actually governing the nation!

Only the National Liberal Party is suited to lead our great Empire into the future; under our watchful gaze, the French shall be kept out of our rightful lands! Only under the National Liberal Party will a free market reign! Only under the National Liberal Party will free trade be possible, whilst still ensuring the German worker is protected! The only party for a TRUE German is the National Liberal Party!

This election, vote for the Liberals, the protectors of the Germans, the defenders of the Middle Class, the Party of Preparation!Or cast your vote for Marxism, and through your lot in with the Red Devil!"

- Freiherr Erich August von Hohenzollern, via radio communique called "A Plea to the German People" (8 February, 1914)

*The Freiherr would continue campaigning rabidly for the National Liberals throughout his native Prussia, acting as the Liberal's spokesman; his natural flair and eloquence suited that role perfectly*
