I have always had a "stuttering" problem while playing NWAC. The units seems to accelerate then come to a stop, then accelerating again and come to a stop. The problem seems to get worse when time compression is used.

Today I was reding a bit on the architecture of the Intel Core 2 T 7400 @ 2.16GHz, and came across the "Execute Disable Bit" function. Execute Disable Bit (EDB) is an Intel hardware-based security feature that can help reduce system exposure to viruses and malicious code. EDB allows the processor to classify areas in memory where application code can or cannot execute.

I decided to disable this function in BIOS to try to get some flow in the game, and voila! My game runs smooth as silk :D I still get occasional crashes and lockups but this is a great improvement for me.

Hopefully the devs can get something useful from this. Keep up the good work.

There was a problem with old .NET and NX bit, but it was long ago. Also - it shouldn't matter from the point of performance.

Theory: maybe there is a code that causes buffer overflow and it's trying to execute code from data pages?
