    Earning nicknames

    My current ruler has the nickname "The Wise" my last one got the "Blessed" is there somewhere that has criteria for getting these nicknames? I know how I got the blesses but how did my guy get the wise? he doesn't really have great stats.

    no idea, one of my ruler got nicknamed "The drunk" and he wasnt a drunkard, and he was temperate...

    so do they do anything, or just pure immersion?

    Some of the ones with negative piety are kinda funny... Nick the priest hater? who ever gets to -100 piety? I can't recall being negative ever.

    They do not give any benefit other than having your character be known as Character the Nickname for the remainder of his life and in his history. Also note that the actual nickname object name might not be the same as the localisation for it.

    I had two consecutive leaders with 'the great'. I think that's prestige related. If you win an invasion I think you get 'the Conqueror', which I did

    My first king of Jerusalem was known as "the Apostle" since I chose the ambition of having a son instead of being "exalted among the men". I thought it fit. Needless to say, I never did get that son...

    My current duke is known as "the Ironside," which is totally awesome. Its cool knowing what comes from what now, but the coolest one, "the Dragon," is almost not worth trying to get.

    No, he was "the Apostle" because he had sky-high piety; your choice of ambition had basically nothing to do with it. (I've had "the Great" without even touching Become Exalted Among Men, which is a largely useless ambition because if you're in a position to realistically achieve it, you probably can't take it in the first place and while you've got it active you can't plotmurder anyone.)

    I've noticed that too. I hope it gets fixed in 1.06.

    The reason I said that was because I would have achieved the "exalted among the men" ambition giving me "the Great" before earning "the Apostle".

    "The Devil", though i have to say i earned it, i had like 4000 tyranny, YES, three zeros, i was revoking arresting banishing executing assasinating, i had cruel, zealous, greedy, i was also excommunicated by an enemy king, though i like to think it had more to do with serial assasinating popes just for the fun of it.

    lol I'm assuming all of the vassals that would have rebelled are...dead.
