Thread: what would you want in a new expansion or patch?

  1. #21
Ruler names and cabinets, i dont care if it has to be even fantasy. This is the only game that hasn't got ruler names and I think its time that you add it.

It would be cool if you had the ruler names and cabinets like in HOI3, that system suits the best for this period. Also the elections would be more fun, usurpation of the thrones, exile of the monarch family, establishing republic,
assasinations of the presidents or ministers, communist revolution, etc.. All those kind of things could improve this game even better.

I'm for more patches. I'd take a solid and balanced game any day over an expansion - Although if an expansion is what makes it solid, by all means.

I for one think that the political system in the game still needs some improvement.

First of all i think it's quite strange that the social spending slider is not affected by your ruling party at all. When, for example, a communist or socialist party forces me to install a minimum tax at 50%, they also should force me to have the social spendings at least at (lets say) 75% percent. It's just hard to believe that a socialist government that is elected by the masses to care for them allows me to pay nothing for their social security.

Second, and more demanding, is the total lack of federalism. It's a little bit strange to me that a historical centralized France is in-game orgnaized the same as federal states like the USA or the German Empire. There should be some kind of federalism-centralism reform (like the slider in EU III) that gives state governments a different amount of control of their state. I am thinking about stuff like school system, health care etc. which effect your POPs but nothing the player can control directly, like industry or military (even though his would be nice, but i see no possibility within the current game). So you take away the school system reform but have local edecutation effeciancy be influenced by the current local government, which is elected seperately in regional elections. The reform becomes available for the whole country when you take away the respective rights from the federal entities. Then you give highly centralized countries the need for more bureucrats to sort of balance the "local governments have the right to shut up" option. Meddling with the federalism then can lead to unrest within the local patriots, without having prussian nationalists who want to be independant from germany again. They could call for repealing the change and seak independence only if you push them too far.

And of course an overhaul of the diplomatic system is also needed.

In a patch? Mostly bugfixes for whatever was reported up to this point in the bug forum, rather than any new features. In expansion, a (still pending) rework of the war system.

Being able to take individual provinces instead of whole regions (i.e. if you played as Poland you could take just the parts of East Prussia you have a core on).

Basic equipment differentiation and upgrades. Such as making bolt-action rifles to replace muskets.

If your armies crush a nation's ability to fight back, you should be able to annex them, but their provinces would be very militant.

When your nation is overrun by revolutionaries, and once those revolutionaries take over, it would be nice for those revolutionary units to switch into your possession. To combat the other revolutionaries and end the bloody civil war. One game as the US turned my country into Somalia.

When you are prevented from building units by peace treaty, that peace treaty should end if your nation is in the middle of a revolution or if it's being invaded by a stronger power.

A far end date(1950 would be great) with everything that concern that like one or two lines of new tech.

An improved military system.Right now,the Air Forces is useless.A great improved for the Sea Battle is imperative.

A better diplomacy, with no stubborn AI without sense(example, conquer all of the british isles, and continue to have a ridicolous war point on the UK).

To end with, better Great War and a event for the second world war in the late game.If this is placed well,it could be an orgasm.I know,it's pretty hard 'cause by the 1935 the geopolitical situation could be VERY different....

For the next expantion i would like a Regional World Market and Sea Shipping lines.
This would make the game more interesting, as blocades would work more efficiently. It's also strange to not have it as the main reason for the UKs power in the period was it's large Navy and total controll over the seas of the world, thus total controll over trade. Thus if you decleared war on the UK, you would be blocaded and not get any goods.

  10. #30
i like the idea of reginal shipping lanes, because in ww1 britain didnt blockade the german coast it blocked the north sea stopping ship getting in which means if the germans had to trade they would have to do it either over land or with countries like sweden. good thinking

I'd massively prefer some kind of head of state (and with monarchs a royal familiy). It could easily be borrowed from EU3 and mixed with the admiral/general idea.

And a 1886 scenario, and a better Great Game/influencing China/scramble for Africa mechanism, and some overhaul to combat. Although I think there will be a final expansion for V2 but not before one year from now, we've got AHD just in February. But I'd expect some patch with minor gameplay enhancements along the lines of 2.2 and 2.3.

-)Political persons and royal family members.
-)better rebel system, like we can negotiate with them or influence rebel orgnisations in neighbouring country either to gain core or establish a puppet goverment.also interve in a civil war and choose which side to assist.
-)better alliances system, tell me why they will not ally me just like in CK2
    -)more events please
-)make taking back cores top priority.its sad when you see the balkans being the same.its like greece and serbia dont even exist.not to mention bulgaria and albania.

A better map would be appreciated. The last update was pretty good in this respect but I just wish you could look closer... I have a dream of one day being able to zoom into the map, and see the weather, all the towns and the sentiment of the people. I would love to see a map so pleasing you can just watch it.

I would like to be able to zoom out to see the entire world.

I'm all for better representation of politics. As it is right now, it doesn't really seem to make any difference to your country as a whole, who gets into power. All it really does is turn switches on and off for certain areas of player control.

I'd also really, really, really like religion to play a much larger part in the game.

I don't have anything realistic ideas to see in a patch or expansion but unrealistically I'd like to see deeper control over puppets. Being able to control their research and troops would be nice. Maybe adding objectives for them too like help me secure my colonial empire or something.

I'd like a real map editor that makes it easier and quicker for others to create scenarios instead of playing around in the files. Nothing complex; being able to pick a start date, set technologies, place armies, set provincial owners and set relations. With a map editor the community would explode with new content.

And how would you get around all the work with setting up the POPs everywhere? I don't think there is any simple and easy way to fix this. You really have to set it up manually, and it means a lot of hard and tedious work.
    Bra där.
