    To despose of Kings?

Hello, I am playing England and would like to get rid of my current royal family for the heck of it as I don't like the name and think it would be fun. Is their any way to do this and how should I go about it? Any help here is much appreciated.

And perhaps as a side note, do any of you have particularly disliked royal dynasty in the game and why do you dislike them?

There are in practice really only two ways to do this. One is very indirect, and takes time, the other is more sure, but does take stabhits and time.

First you can make your king a general, and simply hope that this kills him off faster, as generals generally only have a MTTH lifetime of 20 years. Then you have to hope that this kills him off, before he gets an heir to replace him. Be aware, that his raises a (tiny) risk of becomming a lesser partner in a Personal Union.

The second one is simply to change government form. Simply switch to Republic, wait until the election, where your king is replaced, and when you get a dynasty you like, you change back to feudal monarchy. Note that this can still take years, since there are 4 years between republican elections, and you will have to raise your stability in between.

In the late game, you can try to actively cause a revolution (Frech style), but this requires that you are "lucky" to have the event fire, and still get very high warscore, have high serfdom and aristocracy, and since there is a govt tech requirement of around 50, this isn't really a viable early game dynasty replacement tool.

There's another way too, a console command to kill your king, so it's essentially a game cheat. I don't remember exactly how to do it exactly, but if you go the EU3 wiki & search for Console Commands that will explain how.

Let a pretender hold your capital for a year and a bit. You will then lose your entire royal family and have a new monarch who starts with low legitimacy.

Making a monarch general really makes him die faster? I didn't notice any difference as average life lenght of monarch it's around 20 years.

The death of a monarch might most certainly have a MTTH of 20 years (although I have done no studies on the lifespan of a monarch), but adding him as a general adds another MTTH og 20 years. It simply just gives him another chance to die.

Monarchs can easily last past 20 years. Even among the AI monarchs I've noticed 50+ years is not a rarity, and they make them generals quite often.

I'd start with making him a general (why not get one for free?). I haven't tried this next thing myself, but I've heard that you can't get a new heir if you have no royal marriages (aside from when the monarch initially ascends & event choices) plus it prevents you from entering a PU. If none of that is working, I would personally go for a switch between Adm. Monarchy/Adm. Republic, as the stab. hit isn't massive and you would have more control over it than waiting for pretenders (Stop revolting in Orkney already! The capital is London!)

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I've ended up using the console to trigger deaths and some events to create a civil war after generalship and a war in France failed to kill the king off.
