Ha! There's a big sale on Steam, so I could have got HoI III for half price if I'd waited a day.

You should buy Vicky2 or EU3 (with expansions). They're better games, and more easy to get into imo.
Edit: Oh, I was too late. Its my least favorite Pdox game, but its still good. Youre gonna need the expansions tho. Enjoy! :P

Hearts Of Iron 3 with the expansions is way better than Vicky2 or EU3. If you like war.

That's because HOI3 is a dedicated war game, while Victoria and EU3 are about nation/empire building. HOI3 is obviously superior at war, but really falls flat when it is compared against the other 2 in the area of peacetime.
