The 1.06 update is now nearing completion, and it is now in QA. We aim to release it in mid to late june, with an exact date to be confirmed soon, and at the same time release our first expansion, the Sword of Islam, with a suggested price of 9.99€.

The patch will include lots of new features for free, including expansion of the map into Mali-Songhay, differentiation on strong and weak claims, new plot, expanded combat, and other features to be announced later.

Sword of Islam will enable playable Muslims, with lots of specific new mechanics for the muslims, creating a whole new experience for the player, where laws, marriage, holdings, traits, titles and more work entirely different.

Every Friday until release, we’ll have a detailed development diary, where Doomdark will be talking both about what will be in the patch and what will be in the expansion.

Here's a quick screenshot...

Great news, all Hail Mujahedin Sultans.

Dohoho, just noticed the fewer than 4 wives modifier.

Exciting! I'm a bit "meh" about the Islamic stuff, but I'll probably give it a go since it's such a essential part of the history and it could be fun.

If where lucky they may even try to "re-research" some dynasty history to make gone of some errors in the Islamic dynasties. And I long for polygamy for the pagans and muslims. :)

Oh man, if anyone is surprised by this development, they really need to reassess their nitrogen dioxide intake. But I'm excited all the same, perhaps more so because, although the caught some flaK for it, Paradox did this right. Instead of letting us play a broken Muslim world until they had time to make it good in a new release, they simply cut it out of the game until it was ready. That makes vanilla a better product, and anyone who thinks this is just a way of bilking the players for more cash ought to consider-- if vanilla hadn't been so good, would you be anxious to fork over some more dough for, er, coffee? Falafel? Whatever ice cream best represents the Islamic faith.

Wonders what the grapes are indicating...

Looking forward to this :)

Also noticed the Shia Caliphate is called the Fatimid ... (probably Caliphate). Perhaps dynamic names based on their dynasties for muslims? It was a common theme for them after all.

Look left. Libya is called Suleyman Its looks really like dynastic country names for muslims :)

All hail the Johan!

Also- make a new "Ask paradox anything!"

Picture is clearly photoshopped!

Can't wait! :)
