    Children & genetic traits

Trying to figure out just how this trait system works...I managed to get an heir with the "Genius" trait, and I married him to a Genius woman. They now have 6 children, and none of them have the "Genius" trait.

Is this just bad luck, or am I misunderstanding something about the way genetic traits work? If both parents have them, I would have thought that would mean a much larger chance of a child having the trait...am I mistaken?

I have read numerous times that 'Genius' tends to NOT carry through the generations, but 'Strong' has a much better succes rate.

I've also hear that it might be a bug, but I'm not sure.

I married a genius man to a genius woman and they had 3 genius children, also married a quick man to a quick woman and got 5 quick children. Coincidence? Don't think so.

Hmm, I'm just going to have to go with a bit of bad luck, then. Thank you guys for helping me figure this out.

That has been said many times, but it is wrong.

Squaregear made an app that parses a savegame file. The correlation between parents with the genius trait producing children with a genius trait is very, very strong.
