    Lost :/

hmm first off..this is a very great game its my 1st crafting mmo..I had some difficulty in the beginning but some people were helpful (thank you Sheldore) I wandered off to the wildness to find some indian arrowheads but with no luck i was getting further and further into the woods and suddenly it hit me...i was lost so i tried to trace back my steps to try to go back to bosten but with no luck ether i even got myself into a crime by trans passing on someones land :/ (didn't steal or smash anything just walked on it) so now its been 30 mins and still no luck finding Bosten so if anyone can help me please do and i would like to know about the crime what will happen if i go to bosten and i have the crime stats will it fade away by time?

    1rst: use the Ender's client.

Then, if you headed south, go East, find the coast and follow it heading North. If you headed North, Follow it heading South. Anyway go East and find the coast. good luck.

i have to leave everything i collected if i want to teleport to boston

Which is probably nothing valueble at this point. Study your inspirationals, eat some food to recover, then tele back to boston.

The best way to avoid any problem at the very beginning when you don't have home is to always have a metal nail (the one you buy in Boston) with you, so that if you are totally lost you can make leanto, make it your homestead and port back to boston at any time with your inventory full; The nail cost 30 silver, so that's really not hard to get one always in you pack. It cost you only one space in your pack, its really not much and you can wander and never be scared to be lost again, well you'll be lost but it wouldn't matter much

If you do not turn on criminal acts, you cannot wander onto someone's claim. If you don't want to leave scents make sure to keep criminal acts turned off. The east coast tip might help you get to Boston. You could also try finding someone to friend in your kin list by using their hearth secret (or them using yours) and join a party with them. If they stand around in Boston you could follow the arrow back. Or they could pop into Boston once in a while for you to get a direction to head in.

Now that would be a good idea. That is an arrow indicator what direction the character is facing. I believe the map already is always North up. A vision cone would be even better than a simple arrow.

A craftable compass, and when we're at it a map as well.

See my reply #8, if you place a marker on the minimap you wont get lost...
Unless you teleport to boston/your homestead or enter a house, in which case you need to place the mark again on the correct spot...

@compass: see the Ideas & Suggestions forum. There's probably a half dozen threads there on it.
