What can I do as Regent?

Is there anything special I can do as regent for my liege (The King of France at this time)?

I'm fairly certain that the position doesn't give you any special powers.

It may make it easier to succeed in a plot to kill the person you are regent for as I have noticed that council members often add bigger bonuses towards plot power than random courtesans but other than that it means nothing.

It is nice to see that the players can do the same thing the the AI can do. It seems to me that the regent *always* steals money from their charge, but I might just be noticing the cases where they do because it irritates me.

Just so I know what the damage is when they do it to me--How much does it let you steal versus the treasury?

Up until recently stealing money was literally the only event that was specific to regents, according to the regency_events .txt file. It's a totally undeveloped feature.

It would surely be nice if you can affect your liege more if you are regent, they always had pretty much power in the country and this is totally undeveloped here.

If I recall correctly, when you revoke title one of the conditions is that the one from whom you revoke isn't your regent, so that's another "special power", though I'm yet to find a good way to exploit it. Also, there is now more events for regents, around few dozens, including stealing liege's holding, giving his money away for charity, killing him or even declaring him insane and stealing his throne. So Paradox are working pretty nice on it.

You also cannot fire a regent from their council position.

I was given the chance to steal 20, twice. But each time I passed it up for a small piety boost, as there is a 50% chance you'll get caught.

If I get it right, it just sends letters to regent and other backers (likely notifying of success), and lowers CA, without any other options.
