Why can't we list this game in our My Games section? Its one of my
favorite games and it would be nice to have it listed under my nickname
alongside PoN. I've checked and it's not one of the choices.

Only games with a forum registration key (and game icon) are listed on the MyGames page. You cannot do a registration key after the game is released, because the games are sold, and it's possible to "slap on" a forum key after the sale.
There are a couple of great old games which will never get a forum icon because of this
