What would Mussolini do? i'm thinking he would try to distance himself from the troubles of the world by focusing his attention on his 'Roman Empire' idea. But with the Soviets, France and Germany all being unaligned for the first few game years what would he do? Well i'm thinking he would create a Mediterranean block, He'd directly intervene in the Spanish civil war quickly bringing a friendly and grateful Franco to power. After securing an alliance with the newly reformed Spain he would target Greece diplomatically or Militarily whilst Franco did the same to Portugal. With them brought in forcefully or not they can expand their attention, how about Turkey, Mussolini could use his 'Roman' excuse to invade western Turkey and Istanbul. He might hand over parts of Greece to Bulgaria or invade Yugoslavia to bring Bulgaria into the Block. What about Hungary? well Hungary has always been friendly with Italy, they even shared ideology but would that be enough. Perhaps a promise of land from Yugoslavia would be enough? or will Germany try to curb Italy by aiding a Hungarian invasion into Slovakia and Transylvania?
What about Romania, if France goes far left and makes friends with the Soviets will Romania be able to handle the three alliances springing up around them? will they crumble to communism, go far right and ally to Hitler so they are protected from Bulgarian and Hungarian claims? or will they try to appease their neighbours by allying to Italy.
