Someone please tell me what I am missing here:
I played APK for about a year so when APOS came up on Gamersgate a few weeks ago on sale, I jumped at the chance to get it and the two add-ons for about £22. I am now a couple of turns into the first campaign and wondering why I bothered and what a waste of money.
Yes, APK did have a clunky interface but it is no worse than other games and I got used to it. APOS also has a clunky interface to get used to and it seems I have lost some of the previous commands. As for the first campaign, we seem to have the same maps and a blizzard so there's not much going on and there is a strange handful of units scattered all over the place. I was expecting something much grander. Add to that there are only about 3 missions in total, the add-ons seem a bit of a rip-off as they then become needed to have a complete game (not that I feel like playing much more of it anyway...). I also think the first game looked better. The figures and vehicles were not as rounded but that made them look less cartoony, which is what the APOS ones look like.
Moan over.
