I wish the depth of the EU3 were more present.
An EU: Rome centered in all ancient world and not only in the roman world.

I would really like for EU: rome to expand to like before th founding of carthage and the old phonecial states, some greek city state age, persian empire and then to extend to like germanic invasions and have rome split into the various four parts or two or whatever it was like in the time frame.
One thing I -DON'T- want are blank areas of the map like there were in the first game. Have lots of diffrent tribes and tribal confederations but making them blank just feels weird IMO.
but I am also in favor of ck2 stuff in rome2

I would rather a Victoria 2 Style modeling of the country alliances and economy than a CK2 Character simulation.
Same here, also I don't want to see blank areas on the map either this time around.
Could have a 'reboot' of the game. Call it 'Europa Universalis: Imperator' which focuses more so on the dynasties of the late imperial age (Crisis of the third century) and into the dark ages.
That would make it a new franchiseBut true enough, Paradox still has to fill in the years between 50 BC and 1066 AD, Roman Imperial era and the Dark Ages are left, two games I'd like to see.
But I hope for Rome 2 first, iirc Johan said that it "sold very well" (and thus the lack of expansions really puzzles me - untapped potential for sure) and it seems that they want to make either Rome 2 or expansions for Rome 1 (Alexander themed expansion ended second in a poll a while back, behind yet another EU3 expansion...). One can hope.
I don't care what it's like as long as Sparta is there.
I'm not living unless I'm in battle, so I have to find my own reason to fight.
I would definitely NOT like a late Empire Rome sequel, I would prefer much more one in the Republican times without that much dynasty management (like the first one). I really wouldn't like just a CK2 set in Rome like what it seems several people are suggesting.
The Eternal State - a DH-KR Ottoman AAR - Hiatus
"Holy Roman Empire. Neither Holy, nor Roman, nor an Empire. But it doesn't have any oil so no reason for military intervention" -Voltaire.

I wouldn't mind if they would simply port the VV to the new engine and would start adding features/provinces and expanding time frame both ways via DLS's.
As long as they get themselves sorted and fix legacy graphics (like in Sengoku but unlike CKII).
-Get rid of that colonization system and replace them with tribal polities just like in CK2, and throw in tribal clan faction politics and possible barbarian incursions into 'civilized lands'.
-More focus on dynasties, but not too much focus.
-Less focus on religion and more focus on culture and civilization. Though religion should have more features than just omens and sacrifices.
-Extended timeline from the Persian/Assyrian Empires to the Roman Empire, but gameplay lasts until the beginning of the Dark Ages.
-Colonization would be simply building settlements on coastal barbarian lands.
In general, it should be more similar to CK2, but not too much like CK2.
