[Forum Game] - World in Revolution: 1900

The French Republic, after careful deliberation, and noting the threat posed by the Chinese militarization and aggressiveness, has decided to issue the following ultimatum to Qing China.

1. China will cease all military actions against Russia, and return to pre-war borders, restoring all captured lands to Russian control, and paying indemnities for human and material damage caused by their actions in the value of 15.000.000 £ (OOC: 15.000£ ingame), to take place immediately. Up to 500.000 Chinese workers may be requisitioned to assist in reconstruction works by the Russian Empire, and if requested must be accepted by Qing China, workers which will lower the reparations value up to 1.000.000£.

2. China shall undergo immediate demilitarization, reducing the amount of regulars to 100.000 and conscripts of twice that number, while at peace, and shall likewise restrict her navy to 1 Capital ship and 15 light ships. No submarines of any kind may be built until the terms of this ultimatum are lifted.

3. China shall not declare war against any country recognized by the French Republic, nor commit any acts of war against them.

4. China must respect the agreements signed with other nations relative to the concessions and leases in Chinese territory, and shall respect freedom of circulation in their waters by all civilian ships, regardless of nationality.

5. China will demilitarize the areas within 60 Km of international concessions, and will demilitarize the areas within 100 Km of the Indochinese border, as well as with the border in Manchuria.​

Failure to fulfill any of these terms will cause a state of war to exist between the French Republic and Qing China.

The Chinese will accept these terms, with several differences. Firstly, no payment shall be made to the Russian Empire. Secondly, the Russians shall formally cede their leases in Manchuria, and the land between the current border in the West and Lake Balkash to the Chinese Empire. Third, Russia will demobilise it's army. Fourth, Russia will not declare war upon any nation recognised by the Chinese Empire. Fifth, that Russian and France will demilitarise all their land 500km from the border with China. If these terms are not met, then we don't care less about the French.
 
Yet more evidence of Franco-Russian aggression against nations. Whilst the Qing Empire may not be the most civilised of Empires, the terms the French suggest amount to nothing more than the destruction of a nation and its replacement with a hollow husk, likely under French puppetry.​

OOC: Uh, dude...Estonians are not Scandinavians, and neither are Finns. Finns are Nordic, and Estonians...are related to Finns. There's nothing Scandinavian about Finland or Estonia except for the fact that Swedes have settled there, and they used to be ruled by Sweden, which doesn't say much.

The Chinese Revolutionary Alliance​


Under conditions we have been facing, under the oppressive Qing Rulers, we have hereby entered into a formal alliance with the French Republic. We hereby stand as soldiers against Qing Tyranny, fueled by the money and arms of the great French Liberators. We now announce a full on war against the Qing Oppressors to Liberate our land once and for all! Rise! All good soldiers of China! RISE! Destroy the Qing! Support the French! We shall be the righteous hammer driven by the Liberating French to the head of the dying Qing!
 
The Kingdom of Greece would like to remind the United Kingdoms of Sweden&Norway that it is not the Russian Empire invading Estonia, but the Russian Empire retaking its land. The short existence of this Estonian state is merely a side effect of the war currently raging between the German Empire and the Russian Empire.
We congratulate the Russians and the Japanese that they sat around a table and discussed, in an orderly civilized matter and discussed terms, that were acceptable to both. Japan has once again shown the progress they have made in the past years and how quickly they have left behind their former problems.
As a result of this peace treaty we do not see why the Russian Empire and the German Empire are still in a state of war, and hope that they can sign an agreement before one of them falls into a state of chaos.
We thank the kind words of our Serbian brothers in arms, as long as we stand united Victory will be ours.

Much of the "lands" of the Russian Empire are those of subjugated peoples, who have little or no say in the running of their land, and are exploited by the Russians. The German efforts must be applauded as they gave some of these peoples the right to rule themselves.
 
What say you of the Han, who grew tired of the Manchu subjugation of China, even as you tried to mask your deeds with mere words, and sent off Chinese men to be slaughtered in vain, against the same Russians who sought to preserve the independence of the Koreans, who were also victims of Manchu subjugation?

No, your subjugation shall end. It is for this, and many other reasons, that the French Republic is supporting the Chinese Revolutionary Army in their struggle against Qing tyranny. Like France threw down the shackles of the absolutist monarchy, so too shall China be free from your absolutism.

I say nothing, as the Koreans were never subjugated, reform is coming, and most of those fighting the Russians are not in fact Han Chinese. The Chinese are fighting for a cause they believe in, it is not our fault that some have fallen for French lies.

People of Russia...we...have....prevailed. We have done the impossible, thanks to the hard work and courage of our people we have given the German such sounding defeat that all cities and towns of Germany lost someone. Never in the field of history, was so much owned to so few, for this was our darkest hour. Facing almost every possible problem, our army pushed back a vastly superior enemy and gave them their worst defeat in history, estimates says that the German Empire lost in this single offensive between 1,700,000 and 1,900,000 men, among them 350,000 crack-troops, Germany's best. Most of them surrender in stead of continue a fight a war they don't believe just or right, they just want to go home and continue with their lives. Right now they are being shipped inside Russia treated as POW, when the conflict is over they will be sent back to their home. It's clear to everyone that the Germans no longer believe in victory and just want peace.

Now, let me personally congratulate the man of the hour, the saviour of St. Petesburg and Russia! The scourge of the Germans and the leader of soldiers. The so called "Best General of the World", Aleksei Brusilov, not only he saved our capital city but pushed back the Germans making them loose everything they gained in the past months. Three generations of Brusilov's had served as officers in the Tsar's army, his grandfather fighting in the defence against Napoleon's invasion of 1812. His father rose to the rank of Lieutenant General and now he is Supreme Commander of all Armies. A clear show of military blood runs in his family. For that he is being granted the Order of St. George, First Class. One of our highest military decorations.

 On international matters, the existence of the so called "Baltic States" is close to be terminated. We shall deal with the people responsibly for this.

Qing China as ever, showing it's might now has to face a civil war combined with the war of aggression they started against us, and a possible war with France. A clear show of military and political genius by part of the Qing's. We offered peace terms, that were quite reasonable considering their sneak attack, yet they refused. We only hope that the people of China don't suffer as much as we think they will do with this civil war.

People of Russia, tonight you can sleep calm, knowing that our army still have courage and determination to push the enemy back. But let's not forget that the war is no over and there is still much to do!
