To the Empire of Japan:

This is an ultimatum from the Empire of Russia. End hostilities now with the Empire of Korea, with a status quo ante bellum. Or prepare yourself to face the might of Russian Empire. By now our navy has been put on red alert (OOC: :p ) and the garrison of Vladivostok is being mobilized.

The attack on Korea was completely unprovoked and is just an attempt by the Empire of Japan to extend itself, to gain more colony, more power!

We ask the Emperor of Japan, to end this now, or prepare itself to face the consequences.

The Assassination of William McKinley

On April 15th, 1901, the United States President, William McKinley hosted an open forum at the White House, where he was greeting many foreign dignities. Many congratulated him on his recent election, as well as his string of legislative successes. Although his inauguration had only been last month, he had already felt like it had been years ago, as the United States Congress had begin to throw bill upon bill upon his desk for passage. His purpose for this White House forum was to allow average people to meet the President, one o his favorite things to do, while he ordered Secret Service to back off, as they made him seem intimidating and dark, yet another thing he disliked. He wished to be an open President, one all the people could relate to.

Tragedy struck around eight in the evening, when a Colombian, Jose Pauncho, had entered the White House, under the guise of being a citizen of Texas, and approached the President to shake his hand. When he had gotten within a meter of the President when he pulled out a revolver, and shot the President once in the stomach, and twice in the chest.

The President keeled over and Pauncho was arrested on the spot. After being taken to the White House Hospital, President McKinley died within the next two hours. Only three weeks into his second term, and President William McKinley was dead. The burden of the presidency, however, now turned to his Vice-President of only three weeks, Theodore Roosevelt, who was, coincidentally, just getting ready for a trip to New York. Vice-President Roosevelt was sworn in as President of the United States of America on April 16th, 1901 at 12:34 in the morning.

2. Theodore Roosevelt, Twenty-Sixth President of the United States of America.

Giving a small speech to the crowd he was with, he radiated with energy, his teeth snapped together, and his high-pitched voice rose and fall with his sentences. He expressed genuine grief over the passing of McKinley, but he also shone with anger and resentment of Pauncho, who's actions he regarded as an attack against the very foundation of the United States of America. Many Republicans, and many Americans, watched with a raised eyebrow this new President, as many felt the next four years would be a rough ride.

The United States of America

The United States of America would like to thank all nations of the world that have sent their condolences for the loss of this Great American. May his memory and the policies that governed his presidency be carried forward.

The assassination of President McKinley by the Colombian, Jose Pauncho, is national tragedy, may our nation not be cowed by the actions of anarchists and malcontents. For if anarchy is ever triumphant, its triumph will last but for one red moment, to be succeeded for ages by the gloomy night despotism. They and those like them should be kept out of this country; and if found here they should be promptly deported to the country whence they came; and far-reaching provision should be made for the punishment of those who stay. The American people are slow to wrath, but when their wrath is kindled, it burns like a consuming flame!

The United States of America demands the Colombian government take responsibility for this foul action, and that press forward with Panama Canal treaty or face the guns of the United States Navy and its consequences!

The French Republic condemns the vile assassination of President McKinley and expresses it's condolences to the American people, who lost a great Statesman, who died serving his country, with pride.

We hope that President Roosevelt will continue along the lines of his predecessor, bringing the nations of the world closer together by trade and international cooperation, and acting to secure peace around the world.

We too condemn the Japanese invasion of Korea and request the withdrawal of Japanese forces from Korea and the preservation of Korea's status as an independent country.

We also, while recognizing the efforts of the Chinese government in reforming itself, point out that the increase of religiously motivated attacks in China is unacceptable and must be stopped. It is our staunch position that no man should be persecuted based on his religious options, and thus we call for the Chinese government to put a swift end to these attacks, so that our excellent relations may be preserved.
