Rest assured that we are doing our very best to secure the supply of the premium foodstuffs that feed Europe.
On a related matter, this Government invites all European emigrants seeking for new horizons to come to our shores. Any hard working, good willed man is welcome in Argentina; our Constitution mandates it and our future demands it, for there are yet many fields unplowed, many rivers unchanneled and a vast wilderness to be tamed and made productive by the hand of man.
Besides the constitutional protection to civil liberties, our agencies across the Old Continent can provide cheap boat tickets and information, five days of housing by the State upon arrival, transportation to any point of the Republic of their choosing and much more. Further recognizing the need for increased trade across the Atlantic and necessity of trade between nations
Argentina and the United Kingdom will agree to reduce tariffs between their two countries to a maximum of 20%.

Due to the need for the nations of Sweden and Norway to fulfil their rightful role as protectors of the Scandinavian people, as well as to further our own economy through industrial production and protect ourselves against potential threats, the Swedish Government has negotiated the following treaty with the government of Her Imperial Majesty, Queen Victoria, to whom we are extremely grateful for her nations friendship and good business.
OOC: They are rightfully Swedish. The UK is acting as an imperialistic colonialist power by holding lands which rightfully belong to the Swedish people.

The 1900 Olympics
The 1900 Summer Olympics took place from early May to late October. It was a part of the 1900 worlds fair, headquartered in Paris, France. Around a total of one thousand competitions across 19 sports took place, with twenty-four nations in total participating to try and prove that their nation's athletes truly are the best in the World.

The results of this event were varied, with the United States taking Gold medals in Football, Fencing, and Golf. (+30 Prestige to the United States.) Although they competed hard in other areas, the American team simply couldn't pull together in the other areas. However, the big winner was Austria-Hungary, which swept the board in Archery, The Marathon, Cycling, Polo, and Water Polo. (+50 Prestige to Austria-Hungary.) Not to be outdone, the German Empire won the Gold Medal in Shooting, Tennis, and Tug of War. (+30 Prestige to the German Empire.) The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland took Gold in Cricket and Sailing. (+20 Prestige to the United Kingdom.) France, on the other hand, took the rest of the Sports, leaving the other contestants with only Bronze or Silver Medals. (+60 Prestige to France.)
2. The scoreboard of the Franco-German Rugby Game, which France won.
The Olympic Committee, now determined to decide where the next games were, has sent out a plea to all the nations to prove to them that their nation should be the host of the next Summer Olympic Games. They have stressed they are looking for the country who can make the best case for themselves. The only nations that can apply to host the Olympics were the nations that had attended them in the 1900 Olympics.
OOC: I guess all the ones that historically went to the 1900 Olympics went this time as well, pluss the ones that joined via posting in here....
The United States of America submits its candidacy to host the next Summer Olympic Games in Chicago. The United States will strive to make this event the largest the world has ever seen and is willing to fund it handsomely.
OOC: Wasn't the 19004 Olympics already awarded at this point OTL and bidding would be on 1908?

OOC: IIRC noone actually gave a damn about the Olympics at this time, so much so that in the 1900 Paris games, they didn't have a stadium for the games.
