THE RED REVOLUTION

PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF ISRAEL

Prologue

In 1948, the state of Israel was liberated from the United Kingdom. Finally, the jewish people around the world that had been living in diaspora for several years had a country to live in. But it would not turn out to be a peaceful liberation, after one day the newlyfounded state had to enter a war that would last for almost a year. To the israelis, known as The war of Independence.

Israel was considered as victorious, but still they had to leave big parts of their land away. Areas at the east border (Jerusalem) south-west (Gaza) and the north had been lost. During the war 4,000 soldiers were killed and 2,000 civilians.

One year after the war the people raised their voices, no more living in fear, no more living in terror, the people wanted justice for 1948 and something had to be done.

The large leninist/left-wing radicalist movement of Israel was led by Haim Arlosoroff, the revolution was sparked in late 1949 and blosommed at the beginning of 1950. Israel had been occupied by the leninists after a bloody civil war that lasted 6 months and now was the time for revival and retribution.

Justice for '48.

I like the flag. I will subscribe.

Nice start, I just hope this doesn't start a mess, try to keep away of real life issues.

Thanks for all the comments!

what about palestine?

I'd say it's an advanced matter, as I see they didn't really exist under this period, as a recognized state (correct me if I'm wrong) and that's why they aren't implemented in the game either. The palestinians were given a territory that Israel occupied (not all, but most) and the Arab-Israeli wars were a protest against this from the arab sides.

So to say, Palestine does not exist but they'll maybe have a part in a roleplay!

I: The Tide is Coming

Tel-Aviv, January 1950.

"Not only are we fighting for the cause of socialism, but also the cause to unite our jewish brothers that are stuck in our lost territories. Jerusalem and Gaza are our territories, but our neighbouring countries stole these territories, and they stole our people too. The borders are closed and they can not return home. I don't see why Jordan and Egypt would need Jerusalem and Gaza, for what reason?"
- Chaim Arlosoroff, in a speech directed to the UN.

All around the world the news were spreading, Israel and the new government were raising their voices and their territorial claims. But could they face the challenge ahead of them? The UN and the Arab League would not tolerate another war, and neither Egypt nor Jordan wanted to give the territories back to Israel.

Yeah, I think we should agree to leave the real world out of this.

This has great potential... As long as we leave the real world out of this.

Make the Middle East Marxist!

Yeah, I think we should agree to leave the real world out of this.

Gentlemen, we have an agreement. But just so you know, I need to put in some historical matters from time to time just to give the readers a sense of realism and involvement. But of course all will be kept within the rules and regulations of the forums!

I would like to put in a very small touch of interactiveness, I don't know if it's allowed though..

Part II: Retributive Justice

The israeli army possessed a good amount of infantry units, but there were no heavy infantry units, warplanes or naval units. That's why the peacetime army expanding project was started. Tech teams were also working on expanding the technology to gain a superior knowledge of warfare.

Fifteen infantry units overlooking the borders to Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Egypt.

Israel had problems accumulating to the area since the country was created, and it didn't become better after the israeli civil war. The communists were not liked, especially since the area had big influences from France and United Kingdom. Lebanon and Syria were ex-french colonies and Egypt and Iraq were still considered as puppet governments to the United Kingdom.

Keeping it like this was not safe, being surrendered by enemies is a big risk, and the closest ally Israel could find was the Soviet Union.
A non-aggression pact was established, but Soviet Union refused to let them join the Comintern because they would take a risk and possibly spark a war with the part of western Europe that had their sphere of influence in the Middle East.

scaled.php

But that would not only come to be the only reason why Soviet didn't let them in the Comintern, Soviet had already planned an attack against the puppet state of USA, Japan, as a reaction to the spark of the Korea War.

Soviet Union had entered a war against solely Japan and USA. Peace had been broken, only five years after the second World War.

The israeli government decided to send an ultimatum to Jordan regarding Jerusalem, but it was to no avail. Jordan stated that Israel were wrong regarding this matter and they stricly stated that Jerusalem rightfully belonged to Jordan. Tensions were at their peak, and Israel only had one option left; The War of Retribution in 1950.

scaled.php

Main objective, surround and capture Jerusalem.

scaled.php

Al Karak was the first city to crumble under the israeli divisions, at this point Israel were already predicted to win the war. Jordanian troops were continously escaping as they were outbeaten.

scaled.php

The Jordanian peace offer was declined. Israel stated that "you started the war, you also finish it." By now it was obvious that Jordan were frightened by the massive amount of power the israeli army possessed, the war turned out to be a negative experience for Jordan, something they had not expected. They were left on their own, without the other Arab League nations on their sides unlike the War of Independence in 1948.

Ma'an was captured shortly after as a tactical maneuver in preventing Jordanian troops to enter Eilat. The last city before the surrounding of Jerusalem was Irbid, and Jordan were succumbing under the israeli pressure.

scaled.php

Jerusalem was surrounded and the israeli troops had no defeats, it was an easy war. One Jordanian division was trapped in the encirclement and they had no other option but fight.

scaled.php

The battle of Jerusalem was an easy task and the city was safely taken back to its rightful owner without any challenge. One challenge was left before the ultimate victory, the conquering of Amman.

scaled.php

Once again, the Jordanians retreated and they had to give in. The annexation of Jordan could now be completed. It took 6 months for Israel to defeat Jordan, and after the war the first tactical bomber of Israel had been created.

By now the People's Republic of Israel had expanded their territory immensely, but there was an internal fight regarding this matter. The leninists were saying that Jordan should be liberated as an israeli satellite state called the People's Republic of Transjordania and meanwhile Israel would keep Jerusalem and possibly replacing Tel-Aviv as the capital.

On the other side, the stalinists were saying that Israel had to keep control of Jordan to prevent Jordanian rebels of taking control.

Which road will turn out to be the right?

(I am not sure what to do at this point, liberate Transjordania or keep them under my control? If you have an opinion, you can state it here to affect the outcome..!)

Annex all of the Palestinian Mandate, so yes to Jordan. You'll need manpower and also IC to continue this great war.

Thanks for your answers.. I will present the decision in the next post.

Question though: Are you using a mod for this?

Yes, I forgot to mention that I an using New World Order 2! I'll add it to the first post.
