Equestria in Victoria II

Installation Instructions
Because this mod makes changes to the map, you have to delete your V2 map cache first, otherwise the mod will CTD while loading.
The map cache is in two locations:
C:\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Victoria 2\map\cache
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\victoria 2\map\cache (if you're using Steam)
and
C:\Users\Usernamehere\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Victoria II\map\cache
Simply delete both "cache" folders, and the map will be regenerated when the game loads.
This mod is currently not mod folder compatible.
First of all, delete any old versions you have of the mod. Overwriting will not work.
There are two ways of installing this mod:
1) Copy all the files in the Equestria2.1 folder into the main Victoria 2 directory. Select yes when prompted to overwrite anything. However, this method will overwrite the vanilla game. You will have to make a backup of the game directory if you want to play the vanilla game or another mod.
2) I recommend downloading the JonesSoft Generic Mod Enabler (JSGME). You can download it from here. Install JSGME into the main Victoria 2 directory. Copy the Equestria2.0 folder into the Victoria 2\mod\ folder. "Equestria2.0" should show up when you start JSGME. Some more information about JSGME.
Wait? What? Ponies?! Questions...
- What is this?
This mod adds the nation of Equestria from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic to Victoria 2: A House Divided. Based off of NovaCoru's original mod, who has graciously allowed me to take over development from them.
- For the love of God why?
Because My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is a prime example of how, if you put enough effort into something, you can make anything great. The animation is beautiful, the characters memorable and likeable, the stories engaging, and the world believable and imaginative.
Additionally, the older fanbase of the show is probably one of the most creative fandoms on the internet currently, and there is no reason that the Paradox modding community shouldn't be a part of it.
Also, there is something oddly satisfying about taking the United States down a peg or two while playing as a nation of brightly-coloured ponies...

Certainly. I'm always open to ideas/suggestions that anyone might have. The single biggest way you can help is finding bugs and properly documenting them and reporting them in this thread so they can be fixed as quickly as possible.
-What can I expect from this mod?
Onikujo's AAR is a very good example of a typical game, though depending on what choices you make and a few random chances, you might experience something very different.
Anyway, the mod itself:
-Background-
Ponies have been living on the west coast of North America since time immemorial, paying no concern to the comings and goings of the outside world. This would change in 1816 when a British merchant ship ran aground on a sandbar off the coast of Equestria. Realising how much danger their human neighbours posed, Princess Celestia started a crash-modernisation programme, which is essentially complete by 1836. Equestria is an emerging power, technologically and economically backwards, but with the right guidance can challenge even the mighty United States for continental dominance.
-The Mod Itself-
Adds the nation of Equestria to the west coast of the United States, replacing Mexican California. The POPs in these provinces have been replaced by Unicorns, Pegasi, and Earth Ponies, while Buffalo and Griffins inhabit the outlying areas of Equestria. There are also a number of flavour events and decisions reflecting the changes that might come about from having a nation filled with 4 million multi-coloured Ponies in California. Decisions for the United States have been slightly modified to reflect their presence. Should relations between the United States and Equestria sour, there are events and decisions representing conflict between the two states.
-Pictures-
Equestria at game start. They are, of course, PINK. California has been split up into several more regions, while Arizona and Nevada-Utah are colonial states, inhabited mostly by Buffalo. Oregon and Washington are uncolonised, but inhabited by Griffins.
Flavour event from the game. This particular one is from a series relating to the rights of Griffins, who live in the Pacific Northwest and do not like being colonised.
The pop screen, showing the new Earth Pony, Unicorn, and Pegasus cultures and the Celestian religion. New for 2.1 is the unique Celestian religion icon. As a result, the Judaism icon is a bit screwed up now.

- Added a group of Alternative flags that you can use if you so choose.
