OOOOOO, so Bismark didn't turn down the British offer of an alliance?
I am liking this
It's gonna be very interesting. I'm Spanish and pro-German, so I hope the German Alliance can win.
Never! Frog Power!
I think we should stop cluttering up the thread now, haha.
An update will come later in the day. The war is going well, the French are being defeated on the field and at sea, but the Belgians had a huge victory in Brussels, defeating a much larger German force. Oh and although I wasn't expecting it, America has mobilized...

A Global War
The war has begun. Germany's plan to defeat the enemy in France and the Low Countries first and then turn eastward was put into action. Germany was mobilized and ready for war.
Quickly, skirmishes erupted all across Europe, and across the world. This would truly become a global conflict.
Battles between the Dutch and the Germans raged in the north, while the Germans aided the Swiss who were fighting the French in the west.
However, it seemed that the Italians were struggling to fight off the combined force of the Austrians and French.
To help German High Command authorized the sending of war subsidies to the Italian government to aid in anyway possible.
Meanwhile, unexpectedly the American government called for a general mobilization across the country.
This act more than doubled the American army, expanding it to close to 750,000 soldiers. The Americans had not yet been in open conflict with any nations allied to the French, but it seemed as if the Americans would finally get involved.
News of victories were well-received in Berlin. German soldiers had prevailed against those of France, Russia, Austria-Hungary, and the Netherlands. It seemed as if the Germans were utterly commanding the field.
In addition to victory on land, the German navy had enjoyed successes in the Mediterranean as well as establishing supreme control of the Baltic Sea and blockading all Russian ports there. Control of the English Channel was also established in the hope that Britain would land troops in France.
However they seem a bit busy in Ireland...
Back in Berlin, German High Command was seeking new fronts to be established, as it was inevitable that the Russian hordes would soon be seen by German scouts. Therefore, new allies were being sought out. If Japan could be brought into this war, Russia would have to devote a portion of its army to deal with the Japanese threat in the Pacific.
The Spanish are currently holding up French troops in the Pyrenees, and Berlin eagerly awaits news of a Spanish victory there. Spain has been most useful in combining with British fleets and seeking and destroying enemy fleets. As of now, the German Alliance has complete control of the seas.
As the Italians continued to get pushed back, Germany felt that there must be a change in their initial strategy. Concluding the defense of Italy was vital to the war effort, German troops marched southward to meet the Austrians in battle and relieve some pressure for the Italians. Although the Germans were defeated in Lombardy by a superior Austrian force, the Germans were hoping for victory near Vienna.
After defeating a French army, the German army led by General von Blomberg marched towards Brussels to defeat the main Belgian force there. Outnumbering the Belgians 89,000 to 53,000, von Blomberg thought this would be an easy victory. However, he was wrong...deeply entrenched Belgian troops held back the waves of German invaders in harsh urban conflict. Soon, von Blomberg relieved victory was unreachable, and once it was determined that 30,000 more Belgian troops were reinforcing Brussels, the retreat back into Germany was ordered. Over 25,000 German soldiers lay dead or wounded...the most bloody loss in German history.
Battles are raging across Europe and the world, and although Germany has had a few recent defeats, the war is still in their favor.
However, the millions of Russians marching eastward has some German officials nervous...

this is intresting im looking forward to your next post and seeing how you keep the russians at bay. i always go defensive against the french and let the russians and austrian occupy land while i slowly destroy 1 army after another until they cant keep fighting. good luck, not that you need it
That's a rather unpleasant surprise with the Belgians. I'm sure they will be dealt with later though.
Very interesting. Subscribed!

Looking nice so far. These huge global wars are almost too much for me, but I guess its mostly your allies around the world and you can concentrate on Europe.
I like this because you are Germany, allied with the US, and you are surrounded and quite possibly the underdog.

I am kind of rooting for the French Alliance... Underdogs and all that. (The sheer fact that YOUR alliance has a human player... Advantage enough.)
When you are done with this AAR, I'd kind of like to see you go back to this savegame, switch to Haiti, leaving Germany as an AI, and see how the war goes then. (Heh, ends in a white peace...)
