Armand le Bref laid resting on his back. From duke to emporor all in one lifespan thanks to his fathers thoughtful planning and guidance. The brightest leader of his generation; all to be lost on ridicule altercation with a stableboy and his mule.

I'm trying a composition in Latin (official Paradox language) of my own, as I don't think I can compete in terms of creativity in a language which is not my native one (English). It's going to be less than 200 characters once spaces are accounted. I'm providing a translation below, although it's hard to render some double meanings which are typical of this way of writing Latin.

Gesta de viro reo et peccaminosissimo
cum patrem necavisset causa divitiarum
et Franciae regni decessit cupidissimo
Hierusalem Sanctam in terra Iudeorum
Indulgentiam in Domine Nostro conquiret
et gloriam Cruci hymnum in Sion efferet

[These are] [T]he deeds of a guilty man, and extremely sinful,
for he had killed his father, by the desire of wealth
and rule over France: [for he was] very wishful, [and] he left
to the Holy Jerusalem, in the land of Judeans.
He will seek indulgence [/ conquer forgiveness] in the name of our Lord,
and glory, in Sion will he raise a hymn to [/ for the glory of] the Cross.

The middle of nowhere a boy was born
A tyrant at 30, his soul was thorn

An empire forged in blood and steel
A name whispered in ice cold fear

Deus Vult?! I spit on thee
Here come the lollards best you flee

(200!) - BTW heretical king Levente of Hungary

Son of a Duke and a Duchess
He rose against the infamy
Suffocating the lands

Liberating the East the West
From the tight grip of tyranny
He was elected King

Now he shall rule trusted by all
O douce France!

Son of the Duke of Burgundy and of the Duchess of Aquitaine, Poitou and Gascogne. Revolted against the King together with his mother, who died in the attempt. Far from stopping the rebellion, he inherited his mother's titles and won independance. Was elected King a few years later and began reforming.

Lord Philippe, go to a hunt he said
It’ll be fun, he said, IF you go ahead

The lord smiled, he did
but axe in hand

beheaded him instead

He knew hunts too well to be misled
so he first did what was not said

#Philippe 'The Angry' Lord of Nantes, cynical since 1164.

Ruling wisely over the destiny of those who put their faith in his hands, Count Jocilini de Savoie fights the wicked and protects the weak, noble-minded, like his forebear Humbert aux blanches-mains who founded his realm.

186, not counting spaces.

Before she could walk, Jimena Garcés of Galicia was Queen of Leon (sorry uncle), and pressed her claims on Castile. At age 16, she was proclaimed "Jimena the Great." She married the heir of Aragon but kept her heirs in Leon. That is her story.

Thank you for all the great entries!

Congrats to the following 10 winners:

"The blood that blighted her hand elicited a subtle maddened chuckle. She had to finish the plot herself; she had to prove she was man enough to take a kingdom. Long Live Queen Anne: The Black Widow. "

He who valiantly fought against the heathens, knowing his chances of victory were slim.
He who died as it's savior.

"A man whose name is echoed thorughout the ages, untouched by sin, by fear, by selfish desire. He lived only to protect his people and serve God. Noble in rule and courgaeous in battle, the devil himself could not stop this man in his mission. "
