    Battle of Jutland 2030

Fantastic scenario guys, very interesting tactics must be used. I managed to beat the German fleet but sadly lost HMS Kent to a fire started by a Harpoon hit.

Just played it with my mate, me as the UK, my friend as Germany. He's not too keen on submarines, so we played solely Surface/Air.

Have to say, it's a pretty fun map, and it highlights nicely how useful good AA platforms are, in my case 3 (or 4?) super Type 45s with Aster 15/30. The Helo UAVs were a pleasant surprise too, took out my two AEW helos

Shame about the end of the match though; it proved too much for my friend's client when I launched 20xHarpoon + more missiles from Naval Strike helos at his southern squadron, and it crashed for him. (I would've won anyway )

@Imperialman: the same, though my flaming explosion originated from HMS Sheffield

We thought that would be a fun one. Hope it is reasonably well-balanced, even with the differences in equipment. Been thinking about this for a long time, actually.

Seems that, in my game at least, it counts subs sunk towards the goal of 5 surface combatants sunk. I thought that might not have been intended. Fun scenario overall for sure though. As Germans it's so difficult to use your helos with those Aster 30s around. Very challenging.

I just played that mission, and I found it really fun. Was quite a shock to see those German subs have SAMs! I lost quite a few helicopters to them, and one to the Camcopter thing.

I didn't lose any ships, though HMS Kent was badly damaged by a single missile that managed to get though my defences. She survived though. And it took HMS Astute two volleys of torpedoes to kill the northern group.

But yeah, great scenario. I think it was quite well balanced too.

It doesn't; only surface ships are counted. It's easy to lose track of what goes down sometimes, and occasionally you also lose a ship to fire, which counts.

Agreed, the subs and their SAM's puzzled me until a Merlin detected the first German sub and then got shot down.

Well, the thing is, the way my game went I only engaged the southern RN group, which is 4 ships. I had sunk 3 of them, and was working on the final frigate, when I stumbled upon an Astute sub with one of my SAGs and sunk it. I then closed to gun range on the straggler from the southern group, sunk it with one shot, and to my surprise, won. I hadn't even fired a single missile or anything at the northern group at this point. So unless they sunk one of their own ships, which I believe is impossible due to their not being any friendly fire...

    The mission was fun indeed.

The only thing that should be added in my opinion is one more victory requirement concerning the helicopters. Maybe "do not loose more than 5 helicopters" or something like that.

Hmm only 5 ships? was looking forward to sink them all...

All sunk with cruise missiles or torpedoes. Was looking forward to gun Vs gun battle but alas only 5 ships needed to be sunk.
Played the British(single player), sunk all the German northern most group and one of their southern then the mission ended abruptly. Kinda rude . Was looking forward to close in with my entire group now as one formation and attack them with guns blazing in. The plan was to close in then launch the last 8 Harpoon missiles then attack whatever left. By then they should be outnumbered 3 to 1 or even 4 to 1....I think they have expended all their SSMs(their Harpoon and Bofors missiles both groups). Not a single missile or torpedo hit any of the British ship

Towards the end however after I grouped both formations together I couldn't order new waypoint/direction to go for the combined group. Was kind of weird....not sure what happened.

Maybe there should be a scenario about sneaking a prototype Russian submarine past the Americans patrols, past their sonar nets, and lay off their largest city, and listen to their rock and roll... while conducting missile drills.

This isn't too far different from a few missions I'm looking to make soon as the editor is launched. In short, the series I'll be making simulate a series of modern day Holystone-type missons, as well as a few counterparts not unlike what you're looking for here from the Russian side.
