Thread: Game freezes.

    Game freezes.

    Hi, after a few hours of game time, the game freezes.
    I can click on the menus and everything, but time stops.
    In 3d, you see weather and sea changing but the aircraft and ships are stuck.
    I have the steam version and a Core2duo 2,3 Mhz, 2 Gig Ram and a Nividia Geforce 9500 GT.

    I've also just had a freezing bug. It happened as some missiles I launched were about to hit enemy aircraft which were landing on a carrier. Not sure if that could be causing the bug, the logs do seem to contain a NullReferenceException on a missile impact.

    You nailed it, gibsnag. It happens if your missile has an impact with an aircraft that has just landed. We found and fixed that bug today. Hopefully we'll have a patch out tomorrow afternoon.

    Well game also freezes without firing a single shot. As I said in the other thread game keeps freezing randomly and couple of times when i issued a waypoint to a unit that allready had a waypoint.

    Hi, I have the same freeze bug with the demo.

    I was trying the tutorial, the first one, the game freezed out after launching the helo and compressing the time to 1:10, it happen to me also with a mission on russian side, when I compressed the time every unit freeze.

    I'm using the Steam Demo, now I'm going to see if GG have a demo avaiable and check it out, maybe is a time compression bug that just goes out on Steam release.

    EDIT: Unfortunately the freeze bug repeat himself even if I don't use time compression.

    The demo and the finished game is exactly the same thing. There aren't two different versions.

    Hopefully this crash is one of the issues we've already solved today. They will make it out in a patch tomorrow.

    Crash after patch

    Well fired up Steam today, updated the game and did "Verify integritiy of game cache".
    Again started 3rd mission for NATO and was actualy able to play for about 10 minutes (shot down 1 aircraft ) and then the freeze kicked in again .

    I patched today, and am still getting the "units freeze" bug. I was playing the second tutorial, and had just launched torps at the sub, when all units stopped. I was looking at the sub, when it exploded. So I guess things are still happening, you just can't see them or give new orders. I am not allowed to post attachments yet, otherwise I would send my logs. Or should should I just post them here in the text?

    Thanks for sharing. Should be possible to eliminate that. I have to say you have epic bad luck, since we've been running the game for hours today on separate systems without encountering any crashes. Oh well.

    Yes, please. If you could enclose each section with the {code} tags - brackets not curlies - as Streptokok does above, it will be even more readable.

    The game is unable to read the map terrain data file from disk. That may because the file has been corrupted (try Verify integrity of game cache) or that you have very little available memory on your system while running the game. That's at least what I can think of. Have you shared your dxdiag file with us?

    I've verified the integrity and it says that the file is ok, as memory I have 4 GBs of avaiable Ram I don't think that memory could be the problem.

    I put my log files of this last session plus dxdiag, hope that this can help you out on fix this problem.

    In the Dxdiag.txt I've cancelled the name of my PC and other things for privacy.

    EDIT: One thing that I forget, could be important or not, when I newly downloaded the demo from Steam this afternoon, it say that the file is 1.2 GB in total, when I was downloading the progress bar tell me that the entire file was 1.2 GB but in the end it downloaded just nearly 1 GB, now if I look in the "Properties-Local Files" of the game it says that the game files are 745 MB, where are disappeared the datas?

    My game ran fine until I patched it, now it freezes in the middle of a mission.
