Also Yes to 5 year plans here as in every, single, game I have played without me taking some serious steps the Soviet's get over run by the Germans every time as Germany has an IC of over 1000 while the Soviets have roughly 250. Less then my UK, France or Canada.
Haven't seen Germany actually succeed by itself or build that much IC with the recent version. Older - yeah.

As I mentioned, I had nerf France to actually get things done.

I need to ask because it genuinely confuses me.

Why does Canada get the "End of the Entente" event that forces it out of the Allies in 1926?

Granted the UK ends it's puppetry but Canada is still part of the Commonwealth so surely it should still be in the Allies? I only ask as a Neutral Canada in WW2 makes absolutely no sense.

Already fixed.

More of the General build order weirdness.

Also, was tagswitching around and - UK had 50% dissent. Japan was stuck at 18%. I think the current great depression or whatever chains are a bit too effective

It's all Burning's fault.

We'll make the hunger marches/Depression have a little bit less harmful in the next revision, and I'll take another look at Japan's buildqueue. Thanks for the feedback, must be due to me usually playing Japan in my games.
Earlier we always had the problem of Japan building too few units, now it seems we did fix that, but they are now building a "little" too many planes. I'll assign more priority to Ships and Army instead.

Quick question time.

Why does the UK always choose to maintain central control over Northern Ireland? IRL it didn't take away Northern Ireland's own parliament until the Troubles started to grow out of hand so the later 60's.

It's meant to offer a nice transit from WW1 to WW2. If we keep Northern Ireland around until WW2, Germany could simply invade their two provinces and annex them outright, giving Germany a owned province on the islands. In other words: gameplay reasons.

Fair enough, perfectly acceptable two word answer.

what events do you have done for the European revolutions and the Russian Civil War? I have already done a few custom events of my own and could help out with events in post-WWI Europe.

Contributions would be extremely welcome! Here is a rough state of the European affairs:

Done/Nice:
Hungary
Austria
Yugoslavia & Serbia
Italy
Germany

Lacking (+what is done):
Czechsoslovakia (Sargeras is working on it)
Romania (Sargeras is working on it)
Poland (only Polish-Soviet war and a border conflict for Silesia)
Spain (only placeholder events to change from SPA->SPR)
Ireland (only Independence)
France (lacking historical events and colonial happenings)
UK (lacking historical events and colonial happenings)
Turkey (only until after the Greeko-Turkish War)

Intentionally not done:
USSR (RCW is reworked as of 1.03, but most events after the RCW are still very rough)
Greece (covered in Greece Improvement Project, once it's stable enough, we will start adding parts to AAR again)
Luxemburg (ignored, sorry Luxembourgians ;-) )

Missing:
Finland
Bulgaria
Portugal
Sweden
Norway
Denmark
Belgium
Netherlands

There might not be many large updates until August/September. Burning is busy (on RL stuff) and I'm working on converting ministers to 1.03 format with retirement date as well as general database cleanup. We might consider releasing some betas if there is demand for them.

Keep the bug reports coming in during the meantime, it'll just mean more stuff for us to fix. :D

Once more my one at a time event question.

There doesn't appear to be an event to change the British leader from George V until the coronation of Queen Elisabeth II. Could the abdication crisis be worked in with the British Great Depression events to give a blow to dissent growth in the 30's? That way Britain gets it's historical head of state and a potential decrease to the crazy level of dissent it can receive at times under the current system?

USSR (RCW is reworked as of 1.03, but most events after the RCW are still very rough)

Would anyone in the AAR team mind if I released a custom event pack for the Russian Revolution and Civil War and/or world revolution(s) as a stand-alone addition to Darkest Hour 1.03 Vanilla? Some of the events I have been doing are tailored to work a certain way(such as a revised October Revolution).

Or, can I give them over to AAR once I finish them and potentially have them put in AAR as events? :)

Cool, i'm very interested to see what you have in mind! Wouldn't you rather like to build upon AAR for that? DH-full ends before the russian civil war actually has reached it peak. Regardless of that: great that someone is taking care of the RCW a bit :).

I guess that would be better. There are so many mutually incompatible mods out there, and we would be most grateful for them. :)

Comrade, the soviets of the workers will thank you for bringing them closer to world domination!

I'll be a way for awhile on a week-long vacation, but I'll continue work on events when I get back.

I've read plenty of books on post-revolutionary Russia(1917-18), so I can be of help there.

My revised October Revolution event chain works like this:

-The October Revolution Event triggers:

-Second All-Russian Congress of Soviets, which triggers:

-Forming a Council of People's Commissars, which forms your minister cabinet.

I felt that vanilla's October Revolution event(which wasn't a chain) failed to accurately define the aftermath of "Red October."

Lenin had purposely launched the October Insurrection(it's proper name) just before the opening of the Second All-Russian Congress of Soviets in order to mitigate the influence of the moderate socialists.

This would ensure that the soviet congress elected a far-left government as its executive branch, to be theoretically held accountable to the congress of soviets and the C.E.C.(the legislative, multiparty branch of the soviet government).

Although the Sovnarkom(or Council of People's Commissars) was at first exclusively made up of Bolsheviks, it would be broadened to include Left SR party members, whom served as a moderating influence on the radical Bolsheviks inside the Sovnarkom.

This could be modeled in-game through events adding Left-SR ministers. ;)

Later, the Left-SR members would leave. This too could be modeled in-game.

Anyways, I'll show you the events when I'm done. :D

It would be better to represent this not by just setting ministers (which is a paint, mind you), but by adjusting the sliders and maybe adding or removing some dissent. If the USSR had undergone not an authoritarian shift through the Bolsheviks but was turned into a "more moderate" left extreme democratic state, the outcome would be represented a lot better.

I finally got a great save going with USA, now in 1938. But I have over 100 000 dollars in minus, what the hell? In the beginning of the depression/dustbowl events I started issuing currencies, but I was losing around 1200 dollars per month and I couldn't keep doing it every month since my industries took a blow and the money given in the event was getting lower and lower.

I'm not getting any New Deal events (do they even exist?) and nothing seems to be improving. I lose 60 dollars every day mostly due to an offmap production of -75, and it's not looking brighter. Is something wrong or will it get better? ( I really hope this is no bug since the save is enjoyable, and the mod is great...)
