Steam Epic Fail - Not steam bashing

I'm not steam bashing here but after steam installed the latest update I ran the game created a new Profile and started a new game, I got through about 10 turns before my computer Rebooted and went back into windows, could not find any reason for it in my event viewer whatsoever.

I found some details from looking around the net that suggested checking the Steam cache - did this, no problems, defragmented steam cache said it didn't need it. Read some further notes and it says blow it away and re download it - so i did and downloaded all 7076 meg of it, now I wouldn't normaly have a problem with this but I had to buy extra bandwidth and thats cost me $20 so Im fairly annoyed.

The game is acting in exactly the same way, it gets to the settings window with the button that says play carrys on when play is pressed and goes to a black screen, then this disapears and the game exits to desktop.

This is realy getting beyond a joke.

    Logs as follows.

    1) If you think it's a problem with steam, you should post it on the steam forum instead. Otherwise if you believe it's due to a bug in the game, you should post under the Sots Tech Support. But if you do believe it's a steam error, try to disable the steam overlay in the settings. If that doesn't work, move your steamapps/common folder out of the steam folder, uninstall steam and reinstall it again, and move the steamapps/common folder back in the steam directory.

    2) Have you recently updated your graphic card driver? I highly doubt that steam caused a system reboot, especially if you are running Win7. If you're running XP, well then anything can give you a bluescreen. Have you tried to start other steam games? If you don't have any other games on steam, download some small demo and try.

    3) I see no obvious errors in the log, but I don't know that much about it. I see you started the game in 64 bit mode. Afaik, it's recommended to use 32 bit mode, as the 64 bit is somewhat buggy. You can change that in the options on the Sots 2 game laucher.

    4) I've updated steam on both my laptop and my stationary, and it's working fine for me, so it's not a general error.

    Cheers

Does the Paradox/Kerberos logo appear or does it exit before that point?

You should have posted this in Tech support.
