love Karl's somewhat minimalist approach to his wedding - "I'll be there" being the limit of his participation. I also don't think that Paul is quite getting to grips with the essense of national solidarity and all that. Equally one has to hope for Eugen's sake that no nasty Polish persons plan to read his defensive plans ... or will the editor step in before publication?
Its a good precaution that you made that warning
The 'Wehrmacht News and World Report' - Telling it like it is.
There does seem to be an undertone of either self-serving gloating (that one Martin) or self-pitying moaning (Karl, Erich). Oh well, if you don't have an agenda, then why would you bother writing, eh? I liked your caption for the new medium Panzer.

Omgz, you have implemented propaganda press!!!
Totally enjoying this! Subscribing now.
I think the WNWR should immediately mandate that ALL True Patriotic German citizens EACH own a Sturmkitten.....or maybe more than one....The German family that can produce an entire brood of look-a-like Sturmkittens that amuse the Fuhrer could be elevated to the monthly Sturmkitten Deutsche Family of the Month...getting extra food and petrol rations and a month long vacation on a Baltic Sea Cruise or Bavarian hiking / skiing vacation (their choice).
Alfred...where is my newspaper....I demand current news of the Fatherland!! WHERE ARE THE STURMKITTENS????
as ever, full of gems, the wee "did you know" column being somewhat sneaky, Paul is raising his whinging to an impressive level, Erich has a right cob on too ... and, of course, all spies will obey the instructions at the top of the page
Ok, it's all nice and well that these WMN&WR is hidden away in this board preventing Evöl Kommunist Spies and their Jewish Kapitalist Co-Conspirators from reading it, but it almost slipped my attention too! This might not happen again. I propose for the Glorious Department of Propaganda to inform me next time!
My god what an original way to make an AAR
The 'Did You Know' column... My Bat-Vision is tingling at this very subtle showcase of foreshadowing!
I am rather disturbed by the Heer recruiting postcard. The fact that they are sending greetings from Florida does not bode well for Amerika... But then, as Martin is quick to point out, the glamour projected by the recruiting efforts is not necessarily matched by the realities on the ground. Or should that be below the ground, in freshly dug trenches?
As far as Czechoslovakia goes, the Germans produced this 'wonderful' map that showed how bombers from Czechoslovakia could menace pretty much all the major cities in the peace-loving Reich - clearly a menace that needed to be dealt with pre-emptively, before the Czechoslovaks started raining death from the skies in an utterly unprovoked attack...
Ah welcome back Alfred. A nice edition to the WNWR. The Sturmkitten was cute as always....I enjoy the humor in each issue, as well as the information on each subject, whether Heer, Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine, or the Homefront / Technology / Politics. Keep up the great work...and glad you survived your vacation!! It wasnt in Bavaria, was it??
in acknowledgement of your latest set of brilliant characters, you've won Character Writer of Week, pop over here to receive your plaudits and discuss your favourite sturmkitten.
Congrats on winning Character Writer of the Week award! This AAR and you deserved it!
Another excellent addition to the WN&WR archives. Although the bunny was nice (good job to that Hitler Youth member Hans), I prefer my bunnies cooked and not treated as pets (sorry Hans). Is there perhaps a large 'kitty' at say the Berlin zoo that might get entered into the contest? Surely a panther or jaguar or tiger with a little stashio?? Make it so!!
genius as ever, the expansion of the sturmkitten could lead in some interesting directions, poor Eugen is feeling rather left out by it all ... oh and game related - you do seem to be going very aggressive on the naval developments, carriers+Nav ... so without wishing to provoke innapropriate foreshadowing is this a UK-first strategy?
Poor Eugen seems to have resigned himself to the fact that sudden 180-degree turns in politics don't mean that the politicians are daft, merely that he himself is not cut out to questions the politicians' orders - I see a bright shining future for him in Hitler's Wehrmacht!
Oberleutnant zur See Karl Ritter might reconsider his opinion of carriers as soon as his precious SMS Köln gets blown out of the water by the Ark Royal (or something of its ilk). I will enjoy the look on his face - although, by that time, he might well be commanding something a little bit bigger, as he does seem to have found the way to climb the rungs of power.
I'm impressed with Paul Weiss's whingeing - he actually manages to take all the good stuff and make sure it ends up as a giant complaint in the end. Must say, by the way, if he fires 300 rounds in a few minutes with a machinegun, he's doing something wrong: the MG-42 (I know, still some years away in the future) was capable of 1,200 rounds per minute.
I oppose for Sturmbunnies to appear in the Sturmkittens Section. There are Powerful Predators and there are preys. Sturmbunnies are clearly the latter!
