Isn't there an advisor that gives + to diplo skill? Does that not stack with the straight infamy reducing adviser, or can it not boost the diplo score over 9?

Fairly certain Infamy reduction only ever uses the ruler's base diplomacy skill, otherwise you could just keep expanding your sphere of influence to inflate your diplomacy score to insane levels.

At this point the English cartographers are known to the world as the most cursing specialists: long trips to the most inhospitable ****holes with measuring gear, border data constantly becoming obsolete, the discovery of new lands - not a day without something needing a correction.

Yup, the Ambassador (much like SoI members) only boosts diplomatic skill for dealings with other nations. No effect on infamy or events that check for the monarch's DIP score (boundary dispute, notably).

You really need to connect your Asian holdings with France and such, then move your capital to the continent.

I see you decided to paint the town...er world red!!

Also - dat Brunei

Good to hear your missionaries are getting 3 conversions a year. Still sounds like slow progress -conversions that is, not the progress you are making conquering.

What a dilemma? Take the core whilst Aragon still owns it or wait for it to defect to Castille.

The Livonian Order is Sunni. That's interesting. Sounds the perfect place to put an embassy once Kiev has cored. Now you know where Socotra is. Will Yemen last until after another massive Indian takeaway? You will have to build some transports. A useful mission to build a University in Meath. It will help with the govt tech.

Milan's taking Sicily down and consolidating the islands. It'll cut down Hansa, too, for Rome and Denmark. Milan seems to have the gain all Sound Tolls as its mission.

Three years war against Hindustan and another large number of northern india provinces becomes English.

You inspired me to try a WC (my first ever) with GB myself! Although I was playing on Normal, I'm happy to report it was successful.

However, roundabouts 1500 I noticed I was losing a ton of tax revenue from Golden Horde and Middle Eastern provinces due to the distant overseas modifier and not having enough ships for max tariffs, and not having a land bridge between my Western Euro provinces and everywhere else, so I just capital moved to Thrace. You're in Europe, but you have a land bridge to Asia, so you don't take penalties on any provinces! That helped hugely with my money situation.

Edit: I guess BootonFace already pointed this out. However, capital move to Balkans (I chose Thrace because it made me feel like a Byzantine emperor) can solve without having to conquer a bunch of high-BB European provinces!

I should have never left the AAR forums . . . spectacular AAR, Prawnstar. And I'm only on page 7. :p

I got into your AARs when you were in the middle of your Golden Horde run. You finished the AAR before I could catch up and I remember PMing you in mock anguish at being spoiled the ending. :D. And so I now raise my cup of tea to yours, Prawnstar. Good hunting. ;). I hope to catch up this time . . .

Yeah, I also noticed that surprisingly big share of English provinces in the pie pic. Are there any English-cultured provinces in mainland Europe at game start, or did one of your CoTs flip first and it then spread from there? Feels like I'm missing something here... :S

Solid advances anyway! :)

Actually I've noticed that your culture pop seems to expand at a rate totally out of proportion to your provinces, to the point where I've formed Spain as Navarre and had a majority-basque population even with no flips.

In my Teutonic Order game, Prussian culture spread through north germany at an alarming rate. Bremen was Prussian by 1580. It just spread in a straight line from east prussia to the dutch border really fast.

I think Prussian had a culture spread bonus on some of the cultures in North Germany.
Yeah you're right, just checked the event.

Cultural Assimilation MTTH: 250 years
-95% if Province:
- culture is Saxon or Pommeranian
- Owner state culture is Prussian

Same bonus exists for byzantines/ottomans against each other and russians against altaic cultures.

When dealing with Hindustan, are you using your navy? India is perfect for an amphibious assault. Make some landings from the east and then fight your way to your lands in the west. In the same time keep pushing towards the east with your armies in central Asia. You should meet eventually somewhere in the middle. :D
Well its just a suggestion, you are the master...

I think he does not have a good navy and he cannot afford to keep armies idling in boats sailing around Africa, since every single unit is needed all the time.
