a moral system and more involved armor system. For moral elite, veteran, average, Poor, Pathetic. For armor no armor, lightly armored, Partly mailed, fully mailed, Plate and mail, Full plate.

I would like to make a case for more historical flavor of nations especially at the start but even as time progresses there were some differences.

Norman 1066- common troops- Norman Milites(partly mailed cavalry, veteran moral) : Spearmen(lightly armored infantry, average moral) can be upgraded to partly mailed (five stars each star increased number by ten percent from your pool of spearmen): Skirmishers (no armor, bow armed, average moral) can be upgraded Archers no armor (five stars each increaded number of archers by ten percent from you pool of skirmisher). Norman Milites could use wedge formation.

Saxon 1066- common troops- Saxon Huscarl (Partly mailed infantry, veteran moral)can be upgraded Partly mailed cavalry (five star each star increaded number by 2 percent from pool of Huscarls): Saxon Thegns (partly mailed infantry, average moral) can be upgraded partly mailed cavalry (five star each star increased number by 2 percent from pool of Thegns: Saxon Fyrd ( no armor infantry, Poor moral) can be upgraded average moral ( five starr each star increased number by 10 percent from your pool of Fyrd).
Rare troops- Fyrd Archers (no armor , Poor moral) historically not many ( five star each star increased number 1 percent from pool of Fyrd. Skirmishers (no armor, average moral) historically not many (five star each star increased number 1 percent from pool of Thegns.

As one can see the armies are quite different The normans have three arms Partly mailed cavalry, Spearmen mostly lightly armored, and archers weather formed or skirmisher. The Saxons were infantry, infantry and more infantry with a splash of partly mailed cavalry, archers and skirmishers.

recommended reading for those inclined 1066 The Year of the Conquest by David Howarth.

If there is interest Ill continue with the Norwegian Profile, Wales, Ireland and Scotland. And then how all these armies change in time.
