Ok why are you King now?

As the title says, I was playing as the King of Ireland, Scotland declared war on me in order to take my King Title, the King of Scotland was my brother, ANYWAYS. So I'm playing along there is a HUGE seige taking place at Dublin my capital and all of a sudden my Son becomes king, all of my vassals goto -100 and my entire war falls to peices. I kiss everyones butt and say I'm sorry and manage to maintain myself as the Duke of Merth and Leinster. HOWEVER here is the kicker, my father isn't dead, he isn't incompetent he is perfectly fine and infact is quite pissed off that I won't grant him a fief.

So what happened, how did my Heir become King. I'm using Promgente... whatever the one where your oldest son inheirts all on death.

So my father ended up living for like five years after all this and when he died he didn't even have a king title, poor guy. Anybody have a clue on why he was demoted or stepped down from his throne?

Edit- I also forgot to mention he was craven... so is it possible that while this huge siege was taking place on his capital he just tossed his crown at his son and hid in the corner like a coward?

did you happen to reach -100% in your war with Scotland? It sounds like he wasn't trying to take the kingdom title, but simply depose you, and replace you with your heir, who was your son. If you reached -100% it'll automatically peace you out

No because I lost and my king ended up becoming the Duke of Merth while the King of Scotland took the crown of Ireland as well. My Heir became the King about a month before we completely lost all hope, it was still a fairly even fight of two armies at about 2000 vs 2500

He wouldn't be deposed of all of his titles, just the kingdom one. It really does sound like you reached -100% without noticing...

Nope, I was immediately shocked when My king was young again. Then I realized it was his son. Shortly after I got the surrender offer and was demoted to Duke. My Heir became King before the title was even lost.

Maybe he was forced to abdicate by one of your vassals.

Its possible. I don't really know what happened I never got a pop up or anything. As I said he was craven... and well his son was a proud tactical mastermind or whatever and didn't like his father very much for it being such a coward. I just didn't think your heir could pimp smack his dad and take the crown.
