    Norman conquest of England

Still playing the demo (probably getting the full game tommorow), but I was wondering... did anyone so far have seen a successfull norman conquest of England? I've played some 10+ games (in the demo) and been talking to a friend who owns a full game. Not once was William of Normandy succesfull... I mean, I know that history could easily gone the other way in that case, but 0 out of some 20 is a little too much, don't you agree?

and one other question...are there any good mods out yet?

I have, but successful isnt quite the right word as when william died it all fell into civil war then norway invaded then the saxons overthrew the invaders then the norwegians won and then the saxons and normans rebelled to put the hwicces on the throne then the godwins then the danes invaded and so on and on for the next hundred years. it was cool.
In every other game ive played ive been involved in it so couldnt say

In my current game as France, William surrendered after a year, Harald Hadrade defeated Harold, when he died, Harold's son rebelled and won the crown back, then Denmark defeated the Godwinsons. At current, England is divided between Norway and Denmark with Denmark holding the crown. Quite interesting.

I've seen William win; but England always seems to be in a state of constant civil war no matter who wins

I did it first time. Harold surrendered in 1071, the Norwegians a couple of years later.

I am now in 1110 with the same family.

I intend to hold Central Europe before crusading. Then maybe a World Conquest.

I don't know what happened in the full game as when I played willia
Just laid siege to the south east and I sent a merchant army to blitz siege the rest seems that the Saxons annihilated the Vikings and I overrun then but I never saw the full stack for either. I completed a total conquest William dies after 5 years Robert became king and was going well until Richard assassinated his daughter so I arrested and executed him and the held onto Normandy for a bit. William rebelled so I revoked Essex and gave normandy to the count of eu. After 15 years he dies and his son rebells when I have limited cash and no army. I had kept my army standin the whole time so France would t declare war. You guessed it france declared war for the duchy and despite me uaving most of it occupied and a higher war score he surrendered to the French. Being in italy won save him fromthe assassins. He has forced me to war for normany again as mortain holds Cornwall and is a french vassal. French king didn't fare well either I assassinated him as well.

My first game AI William won.

I was Duke of Norfolk, brother of Harold. He was captured by Norwegians, died in prison... Harold surrendered in 1072 to William and became Duke of Bedford.

Cue a hundred years of the Godwinson's being imprisoned (No civil wars!) and eventually it was something like three or four generations were imprisoned. Luckily I got in with the de Normandie family and ended up married to King of England, eventually awarded most of Southern England and two generations later seized the crown. So in my one... Harold sort of won.

I played as Leinster, and married King Harald IV's daughter. He sent for my arms and I answered, and by that time he was conquering England like a saint, but two years after I joined, he died of age outside of Essex. Then, the bastard steamrolled up the coast and made a sucsessfull attempt to seize the English throne. So in my game, it worked.

In the real patched game, yes, William slowly proceeds with the conquest, although sometimes some northern lord seem to resist or rebel for a while. The demo is just a demo, it's not the real game .
