    Question crash when timeline start (solved)

    hi.
    i have a problem. even when i start the time after the 2nd day the game crash..
    what can i do?

    Did you see the instruction on the download page relating to the billboard.fx file?

    *****the mod will crash if you dont fix this billboard.fx**********
    billboard.fx:
    -it needs to be placed (copied) from the mod\Terra Nova\ folder into the vanilla (main game) EU3\gfx\fx\ folder.

    1) Is your eu3game.exe file dated July 22, 2011? If not then download the last DW 5.1 patch.

    2) Otherwise you may have a bad download. Delete the mod and download and install a fresh copy. Then make sure to copy the billboard file. I don't know what else the problem could be.

    so i tryed everithing.. deinstalled and reinstalled eu3dw, tryed mod v. 14.112, 14.112b, 14.110, installed the patch..
    i think i give it up.. :S

    p.s.: the game dont crash, it just hold on and dont work more.. if it can help..

    Does the regular game run fine?

    Is there any errors in the main game log directory error.log file?

    The mod runs fine for others so you must have something wrong with your install - we just need to find it.

    yes the regular game game runs and the there is no error in the .log file.
    i have eu3 dw v.5.1 and now installed the mod v. 14.112
    at the beginn of the game i can choose the nation make settings without problems. in the game i can, as long as i don`t start the time, make the settings too. but just when i start the time after the second day the game stops.. just the music and sounds goes on.

    OK we will try having the game run in debug mode which will create a more detailed error log. Please do the following:

    step 1 ) Find your eu3game.exe file and right click on it and choose send to then choose desktop (create shortcut)

    step 2) Then go to your desktop and right click the new shortcut and choose properties and edit the target to add the following at the end

    -debug -mod Terra Nova

    so it looks something like (depending on your install location)

    "C:\Paradox\Paradox Interactive DW\eu3game.exe" -debug -mod Terra Nova

    then choose ok

    step 3) click on the short cut and it will start the game and the mod all in one. Then when the game stops working after the second day close the game.

    step 4) look in the main game log directory at the error.log file and tell me what errors it finds. Also the errors in the main game log directory system_error.log

    not sure what the meshtype errors are about, achievements dont matter in mods, i may need to fix the buildings interface gui or gfx file but that shouldnt cause a crash since it doesnt even get used anymore in DW i think.

    please make a copy of your EU3 folder and run the mod from a non-program files location or disable UAC in vista or win7.

    Did you run in debug mode as I asked?

    And after doing so look in the main game log directory and post the contents of both files I asked for error.log and system_error.log. Which file did you post?

    Also what are the last items in game.log?

    I don't see any errors that would crash the game so I don't understand why it crashes for you.

    However, I don't like that 98 provinces are missing names. I am going to download a current copy of the mod and see what I can find.

    Well I downloaded a fresh copy from the mediafire download link of TN 112 and made the billboard and terräng-mall.dds fixes and loaded the mod and choose castile on the 1399 start and every thing ran ok.

    I also looked at the logs using debug and I don't see the missing province name errors so maybe your TN install did not finish correctly? Maybe delete everything, download again using the mediafire link, reinstall, and make the two fixes again.

    Make sure to delete your entire current TN install first.

    EDIT: from looking at your logs it seems you are playing in German or a non english language????

    Try running in English and see if the mod runs correctly.

    I think there have been reports about the main game crashing in German. I know the mod's files are not setup to play in German as a lot of stuff is missing for German. Only English and Hebrew appear completely setup.
