    Suggestion for Buildings

Could something similar to the automated province decisions done for buildings ?

The worst drawback of managing large empires is to click in the buildings legder and click each year 5 times.

I love the way of the provincial decisions work (I mod them to trigger with 4 officials), so I can concentrate on actually playing the game.

To simulate the building time could be worked as trigger event (cost removed) => random timer (50% more than on manual) => building added to province

It`s a bit more advanced than my Clausewitz engine expertise, but is this feasible ?

i manage to click that in every province by opening the build menu, sort after production or what and just click and pressing enter. so you click, enter and again ... works really fast

Yes, but if you got a 45+ provinces empire.
When you want to expand roads = 45 clicks
    Courthouses = 45 clicks
    etc
    etc
    etc
And be attent so if you are concentrated on a war, then you forget to stop-click and lose 3-4 magistrates because the limit is 5

    This is planned.

Simulating the building time is neat but will induce strain on the engine for all the added events. On the other hand, one can argue that you get the event when the building opens. We could have the event giving a building add some sort of timer, so that adding another event wouldn't start before a given time. I'll also check if there is a trigger checking the presence of a building under construction.

Yes, and that used to be the best way. Until the magistrate system came and upped the ante on micromanaging. Now I need to go back and check it regularly. Up to a dozen times for a medium sized empire. And at one case (not sure how) I was getting +7 magistrates in one of my test games. Maybe from a lot of buildings? Was pure hell to have to check the ledger every 8-9 months or waste magistrates.

A pain. You have a well managed medium sized empire with the "Administrative Bureocracy" and you can get 7 magistrates per year. Constant watch to see that you are not wasting magistrates

Is there any way to upping the limit of magistrates to 7-8 or is hardcoded ?

it's hardcoded as far as i know.
but i would love to build buildings without magistrates or could get magistrates for money - altough that would be a little unfair for small nations^^ but in my ming game i had around 40 magistrates a year in the end... ~600 provinces, nearly every with costums house, merchant guild, factory and steam powered factory and always only build universitys. (with the imba trade income from these buildings you can go A LOT on minting)

Yeah, I feel magistrates was a bad direction for EUIII to go in. The 'click-fest' that they wanted to avoid just got a whole lot worse and micro-manage intensive.

Yes and no... i like the rational behind the magistrates. Best would be to increase the automation feature. But for that i need help or time.
