Pre-emptive testing had 100 AI divisions in Alaska after 1 day of war being declared, and bloody 41 ship fleet running interdiction from the Aleutians. Such bollocks. Fucking US being in the Entente means any Indian ventures must be curtailed as well... :/

    I'm gonna invade China instead.

Firstly I must say "Yay!" because I don't want my beloved America invaded.

As for China- Sinkiang, Mongolia, the corridor to Sinkiang and Manchuria should belong to the Rodina!

Great AAR- good to see a non-Syndie Russia (USSR is SOOOOO vanilla).

Ouch - well good luck in China. Though the loss of Mr. Cohen is deeply felt by myself and the rest of the Politburo.

    Chapter Nine - Maskirovka

The bells that rang in 1944 were bells that rang surprise. The entire naval base at Anadyr was revealed as a cold-water port that was ultimately useless to the Russian government. The extension of the Transiberian line meant that the redirection of troops to the borders of Qing China were complete by January 15th. The 20th saw Russian armoured fighting vehicles rolling south of the Great Wall. The battle for the mountainous Datong province ended on the 10th of February as Russian forces advanced on Lingqiu before swinging onto Beiping in order to secure the airfield there, as well as seeking to create a pocket of Chinese troops in Zhangyuan. The invasion of Northern China saw immense numbers of Qing troops forced to fight to defend Beiping, whilst the city was cut off from resupply. Russian forces exploited this by moving toward taking a number of undefended provinces during the early stages of March as the siege of Beiping took on epic proportions.

Ultimately Russian troops couldn't break the resolve of the defenders, but since the Qing Capital was cut off from the rest of the nation, the interdiction of supplies to the besieged city was easily managed, whilst forces moved to try and take the province of Jinan, also in posession of an airfield in order to try and bring airpower against China as opposed to trying to defend the vast skies of Mongolia with a fighter airforce more suited to defending the European theatre. The invasion of Jinan and capture of the airfield represented a turning point, as a large contingent of Qing troops surrendered in adjacent Zaozhuang and moves were made to bring Russian troops into the mountainous northern regions - Denikin and his confidants seeking to crush any sort of holdout situation like that of the Shangqing Tianguo. An attack against the province of Zhangyuan through April saw Qing troops being drawn out of Beiping like blood from a wound, before Stavka redirected the main thrust of the attack against the Imperial City once more on the 22nd of April. The Chinese response was to start attacking the provinces of Jining and Datong, forcing the attack to be cancelled in order to reapply pressure on the large army in Zhangyuan... the Russian supply corridor via the puppet Xibei San Ma not yet having being opened.

The 14ya Rossiyskiy Korpus lost Datong, but the timely redeployment of 1ya Tankovaya Armiya beat back the Chinese and kept the supply corridor into China open. The strangulation of Chinese supply lines meant that by July 30th 1944, aside from the province of Zhangyuan and Beiping, China (excluding The Treaty Ports, Yunnan and Manchuria) was under Russian administration. From August 12th, a combined land and air effort was made to dislodge the defenders of Beiping. September 6th saw the end of the second siege of Beiping, and the annexation of the Qing Empire. What to do with the seized land was a topic of hot debate between criminal elements seeking to loot the new lands, and more moderate leaders.

OOC: I'm gonna end this chapter on Sept 20th 1944, and open the floor to the readers. What do next with China?

Right, the revolter situation in China is a Mess... RoC gets modern China claims, then there's Nanjing/National Government of China (Yellow Valley Kingdom) and Qing can be re-released in the north, but that's about it. Might have to sit down and do a bit of faffing with revolt text.

Excellent AAR. I would really like to see some game screenshots, though. In an alternate history scenario people tend to be less familiar with the geopolitical situation.

As for China. If you want to keep in character with your crime-military coalition, I would say: Loot away! (In game terms: Occupy the land and deal with the occasional revolt).
