The Mexican republic announces the initiation of a stability program. For years now corruption, instability, crime and a multitude of social and economic troubles had blocked Mexican progress and thus problematised action truly within her interest. No more.

Substantial investments will be made into reforming and making truly independant the judiciary, controlled and judged by itself. The policeforce too will be up for expansion and revision. The ministry of justice will call into being improved educational systems to train and educate police forces in properly keeping the peace, maintaining order and upholding the law and nothing but the law. Additionally an internal chamber will be called into being where policebehaviour can be judged if considered illegal or corrupt by citizens. Again this new institution will be manned by specialists in law who shall be granted a great deal of independance though answer in turn to ethic codes and are publicly expected to answer for their actions for a comite of experts.

In the field of foreign affairs Mexico is proud to report it is in talks with the US regarding a mutual defence pact and tradeagreement. We would like to initiate talks with the Confederate states of America and the Guatemalan government to open perspectives of trade.

OOC: So, Portugal, want some trade with your Iberian friends? By the way, does that mean that you will pressure Brazil to abandon slavery too?

OOC: I would like to trade, but currently I don't have enough information for domestic issues. About Brazil, they are currently fighting uneven war, so I don't want to be seen as a bully.

OOC: Has Portugal signed the treaty with Sweden?

OOC: Read the updates, Portugal was a monarchy, but they got overthrown by a Republic, with pan-Iberian tendencies, at a time France was invading the Iberian Peninsula. However, last turn, Portugal denied an offer by Spain to set up a compatible and modern infrastructure system, an offer I will renew.

OOC: I would like to ask this from GM. :)

OOC: Thanks for information, but I need to know more statistics like bank, trade income and etc to make decision. After that I decide whether I will act in foreign issues.

OOC: Unfortunately, stats for Portugal have not been made to my knowledge. Fry should be on later, and then you should be able to get sorted out.

OOC: Fry are you going to do the Country rankings?

The United Kingdoms of Sweden and Norway stand by the treaty signed the Portuguese Republic earlier this year. We look forward to continued cooperation and trade between our nations.

OOC: Yes, the treaty was signed, in fact it was signed before the treaty between the UK and Portugal, see: http://forum.paradox.com/forum/show...ution-1861&p=13650623&viewfull=1#post13650623

So, yes Belgium, I am your new neighbour in Africa.

EDIT: I would like it explained to me what these new "Trade Orders" are, how many we have, and what we can use them for. Currently, it is all very confounding.

OOC: Dude, we already have a trade agreement. It was signed when México was still an NPC.

We will recognize CSA, if they take certain action that shows they are going to abolish slavery in near future.

Yours sincerely,

President Montinehuo of the Republic of Portugal

OOC: There is really no reason why you shouldn't recognize us now, we did just win the Civil War after all. And I already have taken steps to freeing my slaves, more than the US can say.

OOC: Slavery is a reason.

OOC: So all your maps are just going to show a big hole where the CSA is at? Don't forget that the US hasn't freed their slaves yet either. I've actually done more to free mine then he has.

OOC: No, they just show a nice blue blob.

Well. Not accepting the CSA as a nation is rather foolish. The USA sees them as independent.
