I think he means the Irish Punt's value will plummet. Thus there is no moral hazard for Germany other than someone claiming to base their (soon to be worthless) currency off theirs.

A meeting of Economists and bankers working for the National Bank of China have finally come to a decision on which currency to be base the New Chinese Currency the Yuan on. The British pound was rejected due to the recent war creating some dislike towards the British in China. The American Currencies are both very weak and are consider dangerous to base a currency on them (Also I dislike America) and the Franc was rejected because it is French. The Currency will be initially based on the German mark clearly the Rising currency of Europe. Although the Demands of war may force additional printing of money forcing the New Chinese Yuan value down but it is currently based on the Strong German Mark.

The Solution to all the worlds problems is utterly simple. We should set up all government so they run like an Episode of Yes Minster. At least that way the politicians will be so busy fighting the government that they will not have time to invade other countries. Equally it will mean that countries will be well run the half of the time which is about an improvement equal to half the time in the amount of time a country is well run. What could ever go wrong.

The Brazilian government thanks the US offer, but our first options are either the British pound or the German mark.
However we will consider the greenback as well, the decision of which currency to base ours on will come in the near future.

I would prefer to know the exact effects of picking X currency tough...would it ease trade? Would it make it easier for me to invest in my country? Would it attract more investors?
Knowing that before choosing a currency would be nice.

Basically, the value is based on two things. The Value of the Base Currency and the Amount of Money you print.
If the German Economy EXPLODED and the Mark doubles to 2.00, all of the currencies tied to the Mark will double. If the USA prints and prints and prints, and the Dollar reduces to 0.25, then all the currencies tied to the dollar will halve.
