How would you feel if you were forced to release East Prussia as an independent state? We would refuse abandoning our Catalan brothers until there was no fighting strength left in our blood, and yet you seek to make us abandon them as part of a victor's settlement?

If they are your brothers they would not be revolting every time you move one Spanish soldier into Catalonia. They will do nothing but ask for independence. It is best you do it now, instead of butchering them all.

We will of course recognise Poland, we just hope that they recognise that it is their only hope of independence.

The Representatives of Poland will agree to lay down our arms now and sign the treaty. However, we REFUSE any German, Austrian, or Russian influence in our Politics. Furthermore, we will only sign this if the Polish people are given a Republican form of Government, not some outdated Monarchy!

We recognize and welcome the people of Poland into the realm of nations. May their people stay free and long taste the fruits of liberty.

The French people again pledge to the other nations that we are only acting to defend what is rightfully ours and what was agreed to in the real treaty. We ask for nothing more than that and make no demands on the Spanish people. We will not yield to their governments barbarous demands for loot and plunder as if this were the dark ages. We were beaten by a coalition and signed peace with them, Spain is spiting in the fact of the international community and we will defend the French people and our friends. Make no mistake, we have no designs on the future of Catalonia save their prosperous independence free from outside rule.

The Kingdom of Spain clearly laments the belligerent attitude of the French despot. That they seek to conduct their imperialism, dividing nations that might stand up to them, bringing misery to both their own people and to the peoples of other nations, is utterly unacceptable and should be condemned by all civilized nations of the world.

The more commonly cited excuse is that the Catalonians rose up against us. It conveniently leaves out the fact, proven beyond all doubt, that France bribed Catalans to stage their little revolt, and then proceeded to declare it's annexation, showing to the Catalans and the entire world their real desires for Catalonia. It is France who seeks to end Spanish sovereignty, and we shall say "Basta ya!". We will face them like a toreador faces the bull, with bravery and intelligence. And we will triumph!

OOC: Isabella was not a really popular monarch, which was overthrown in OTL a few years after the current date). What do you think it would happen if I signed away Catalonia against a beaten France?
