OOC: Foolishly? OOCly, I think the Spanish captain just wanted an excuse to sink some ships and left it there intentionally.

IC: The Kingdom of Spain notes that we have been patient with Brasil's attitude towards Spanish trade, going so far as to allow them to accompany our ships, when we did not have any obligation to do so. The captain in charge had an excellent conduct, escorting the Brazilian inspector out of the ship without any violence. Brazil has no right to declare that Spain cannot sell ships to Argentina, and it is quite hypocritical of them after receiving military aid from Germany.

The last thing we need is the Spanish-American War in 1865.

Germany never gave us direct military aid, however they had no problems when we wanted to invite some fine men that were no longer in service to come to our country and train our military to fight like the disciplined German army.
The costs were completely sustained by our government.

OOC: Have no fear, there are several nations on that list all waiting their own special turn ;)

OOC: If I went to war with Spain it'd be because they recognise the South, not because their neutral shipping was attacked. Anyway, I'd be voted out in 1 year, not 2.

OOC: Well, if you are going to attack every nation who recognized the CSA... plus, we only did so because they had the right to secede according to the US constitution.

OOC: Fry, I think that yourself and myself should both not talk in general about war mongering. I seem to recall you started WW1 as Hanover, and I've managed to set a good portion of the globe on fire by shooting savages.

OOC: Unless Frymonmon considers a Copperhead Democrat Victory in the election as grounds for your removal as the US player, as they will do everything in their power to make peace with me, while you will probably continue the war even as a Copperhead.

OOC: Please let's not start that again. Anyway, it's only 3 at last count, no?

OOC: Yes...and?

*coughs*

I actually had no idea you people would bring the war THAT far. I intended for Germany to steamroll Hanover, annex them, and continue on with Bavaria.

Show's how much you guys can be trusted.

Congo: Pick a nation, any nation.

A Copperhead victory will remove Mr. Lincoln, but not Muskeato. The only way he can be booted if the USA undergoes a RADICAL change. I/E Communist/Fascist/Monarchy

Oh, and if the Copperheads win, the GM will play as the Congress and the President to end the war.

OOC: Wish I still had the PM of your reaction to seeing my orders to enter the war. I seem to recall something along the lines of 'Oh Science... Ive started WW1 as Hanover...'.

Sweden is free Congo, they might be a good choice. Or perhaps Afghanistan, Portugal, or a South American state?

Don't take the international community for naive fools, it is offensive. And the transaction was entirely fair, Argentina paid for those ships, just like Brazil paid for the German military instructors.

The Kingdom of Spain demands compensation for the five sunk ships, their cargo, and dead crew, in the value of 150£.

Europe has such a hard time staying at peace. I should know better.

The situation is clear. The Spanish ships failed to comply with the Brazilian searches, and were fired upon as such. It in not the fault of the Brazilian Admiral that the Spanish refused to provide a reasonable explanation of their intentions before disobeying a search policy they said they would submit to.

OOC: Mexico and Colombia are good choices, although Sweden is a bigger power at the moment. Tbh, the choice isn't particularly great at the moment, but there are some nice regional powers left.

OOC: In place of fight against British tyranny, substitute get a first hand view of systematic mass murder of thousands.

What right did Brazil had to act upon the discovery of a trade deal between Argentina and Spain? Spain certainly did not give them authority to do so, adn we stressed that point when we allowed Brazil to search the ships.

OOC: South America still has possibilities. Forge a Gran Columbia or seize the Bolivian coast as Chile.
