OOC: By my luck the update will be up as soon as I go to sleep.

OOC: Oh, mighty GM, please allow my late orders into the update (had lots of trouble these last two days)

Argentina commends our american friends on their good fortune in putting down the unlawful rebellion.

OOC: Fry can we get an ETA for the update because Tom and I may have to send revised orders if we get a peace treaty.
Edit: Don't worry about it.

The hypocrisy of some nations is astounding!
We here in the Confederate States of America take the first steps to freeing our slaves, and we get no recognition for it nor any compliments from the international community for this first, and most difficult, step towards the abolition of slavery within our nation. President Lincoln's "Emancipation Proclamation" has done nothing. He holds no authority over the states of the Confederacy to free a people no longer living within the United States of America. The absurdity of this "Proclamation" is only doubled by the fact that it does not even "free" the slaves under the unlawful Union occupation of Missouri, Kentucky, or Tennesse. It is no matter, we will continue on regardless, for the sake of our wives, children, and homes we must.

I condemn this act of barbarity by General Sherman in Georgia. Your actions against innocent civilians will bring a reckoning upon you in the afterlife. Whe you stand before the Gates of Heaven and are judged for your sins, you will be refused entrance for the gallons of innocent blood now on your hands.

To the poor souls now trapped within the ruthless occupation of General Sherman, I urge you to hold on. We have not forgotten about you, and we will return for you. Already General Beauregard is in South Carolina with his Army, and will soon defeat Sherman and restore your freedom and liberty. This is a dark day for all within the Confederacy, an entire state now laid to ruin, but it is when the dark is at its greatest that the sun rises and the good triumph.

To our brave soldiers who are angered and frightened at the prospect of fighting alongside black soldiers, I now only have to point to the new black soldiers being employed by the Yankees and the destruction of our beautiful Savannah. We need these men. In our darkest and greatest time of need, we must stand together and sacrifice some of our virtues inorder to fight for our freedom, the freedom of the States within the Confederacy from the oppression of the Union.
We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail.

God Save the South.

We would like to remind the Confederate government, that you are making your slaves fight and die for their freedom whilst the slaves of the north are free already and don't have to fight.

The slaves currently residing within the Union, either through occupation or siding with the Union, are not free. Lincoln's "Emancipation Proclamation" did not and will not free the slaves still within the Union, it only acts to "free" the slaves living within the Confederacy, something it holds no power to do. And I see no reason wy the slaves should not be able to earn their freedom and show their commitment to our cause. We do not need to remind them that slaves living within the North are treated the same as slaves living here in the Confederacy. They should fight to earn their freedom and the respect of the White soldiers fighting to protect the states of the Confederacy from Yankee oppression,

Lincoln gives a promise to all the black slaves in the south. The promise of freedom without fighting. "Freedom without bloodshed" replaces this idea of "fighting for your freedom".

You have drawn out this war to the point that it is a necessary evil to use "total war" tactics upon the South. You have brought this upon you. I suggest that you rejoin the union before any further damage is done to the South. Do this for the Dixie people. Refusing to do this will only cripple the South.

The difference is that your enslaved are being forced to serve, whilst the freed slaves of the north are flocking to recruitment stations of their own accord. Furthermore, your statement on "Yankee" oppression seems a bit off, was it not the Confederacy that fired the first shots of this war?

It is not the Confederacy that has drawn out this war, but the Union. If the Union now feels it has the justification to use "total war" tactics, the Confederacy has it double fold. The Army of Northern Virginia already stands upon the soil of Pennsylvania, with the lush fields and booming industries lying before us with little opposition. Georgia will be avenged, and the last Army standing between Jackson and the heartland of the Union will be crushed.

Our slaves are not being forces to serve. They do not have to enlist. They are volunteers, and by volunteering they are gaining their freedom and joining the fight to defend their homes that men like Sherman are destroying. We may have fired the first shots, but we did so to end the oppression of the North that had been obvious for some time. You cannot deny it, and neither can Lincoln.

The case of the Confederacy echoes that of the Irish traitors and rebels. Both have rebelled claiming to be oppressed, and yet both were fairly represented. What then is the issue? Simply put, their view is not the majority, so, acting most unlike gentlemen, they rebel and try and push their perverse and disgusting agenda through violent means.

Furthermore, His Majesty's Government should like to announce that through the process of mediation between the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Kingdom of Belgium, we have managed to negotiate an end to the conflict suitable to both parties. We hereby present the document in the open, so that the signatories may publicly declare their support for it. We shall also be discussing with the German Empire a matter brought up by the Belgians, in regards to the enforcement of the Treaty.

We were represented by "Irish" landlords and by "Irish" we mean English.

A large number of MPs for Ireland in Westminster are Irish. Furthermore, these MPs are elected by the Irish people. If the Irish people did not want this representation, then they should not have voted as such.

Ottoman Empire

Ottoman Empire congratulates both Benelux nations with speedy resolution of war. Furthermore we are happy to see, that Great Britain once again is acting as a keeper of peace, despite her's current troubles.

We too, are doing our part, to restore peace and stability in Europe. We firmly believe that fed, clothed and employed citizens do not revolt. We have signed trade agreement with France, to stimulate flow of goods in both directions. We have opened our universities to French citizens, so they can learn more about customs of Levant and we can embrace Western way of thinking. Furthermore Ottoman Empire will invest 100 000£ in French factories for mutual benefit of both parties.

We hope, that our actions will speak louder than words. Turks aren't at the gates of Europe. Ottoman Empire is the gate to the Europe.

Signed, Sultan Abdülmecid.
