The Solution to all the worlds problems is utterly simple. We should set up all government so they run like an Episode of Yes Minster. At least that way the politicians will be so busy fighting the government that they will not have time to invade other countries. Equally it will mean that countries will be well run the half of the time which is about an improvement equal to half the time in the amount of time a country is well run. What could ever go wrong.
OOC: Something like that, I suppose.

Wrong. The United States is currently producing 99.5% of the worlds oil in Pennsylvania alone.
Morrell, PM me the stats. It's just easier when everyone complains about them I can just do it and not bother you.
For the record, around 85% of the Irish people support the new Irish Government. Only 15% are Unionists.

OOC: The UK? You need to win a majority of MPs to be PM. Of course, I guess its possible to not win despite getting the majority of votes, due to third parties and the such, but still.

OOC: Actually you could win with only 25% of the vote in the UK today with the factor of other parties even less maybe. In this time you could get away with only 10% maybe your still on the Reform act of 1832. Actually to look at it My Chinese National Assembly is Far more Democratic than the British Parliament If slightly Less powerful maybe.

We wish to remind the Dutch that firing on American Ships would get you into a war with the US and just bring more suffering to your people. If Slavery is the biggest evil of our age then you should not be supporting a nation which is making men fight for their freedom rather then always being free, the soldiers of the CSA even refused to serve with blacks soldiers. The southern landowners and soldiers will immediately renege on their deal with the slaves and while Mr Lee may attempt to honor his deal without the support of the Army and Landowners will be unable to. I sense a Dutch government in turmoil unable to decide on the fundamental values of there nation.

Battle of the Argentine Coast
Soon after war was declared between Argentina and Brazil, the Empire of Brazil enacted a strict Naval blockade, that allowed foreign ships to pass, once they had been inspected of course. Nothing was commandeered for the first month of the blockade, and everything went smoothly, until on August 27th, 1863, the Spanish Armada, 35 ships strong, steamed towards the blockade. The Brazilians, although with a smaller fleet, still demanded to board the three ships the Spanish Armada was escorting. The first two ships had nothing of interest, non-military manufactured goods, grain, and flour, while the third ship help something rather interesting.
Upon boarding, the Brazilian Admiral demanded he be brought to the Captain's Cabin to see the ships cargo manifest. Once there, he noticed a piece of paper reading "Contrato de Venta - Argentina y España". The intrigued Admiral snatched the paper, and read it in it's entirety.
The Brazilian Admiral demanded to know what this meant, and the enraged Spanish captain had enough of pandering to him and ordered him off his ship, and for the Spanish Armada through to make their delivery. The disgruntled Admiral returned to his ship, and sailed away where the fateful order was shouted, loud enough for even the Spanish ships to hear it.Code:Contrato de Venta - Argentina y España España se venden sies barcos a la Argentina por el precio de ciento cincuenta kilos de oro británicas. PAGADO (Spain shall sell six warships to Argentina for the price of three hundred British Gold Pounds.) (PAID)
FOGO!
With a roaring thunder, the entire Brazilian Navy opened up on the Spanish Armada, destroying all three Cargo Ships, and severely wounding one frigate. The Spanish Ironclad quickly loaded her guns, spun around, coming broadside with the Brazilian Flagship, and unleashing a torrent of lead and steel into her wooden hulls, crippling her, and putting her at a moral list. Her masts were already torn off and she was taking on water fast, but the Ironclad simply reloaded and fired again, sending the damaged ship to the bottom of the Atlantic. Quickly adding more fuel to her burners, she lurched forward and slammed head on into the wooden hull of the second largest Brazilian warship. From here, Spanish small arms fire started to pick off crew as the Ironclad's guns pummeled the decks. Shifting into reverse, the Ironclad slid out of the ship with a dull thud, leaving the ship to slowly slip under the waves.
Just as the rest of the Armada began to bring their guns online and dueled with the Brazilian fleet, the Spanish Ironclad, Cataluña, managed to sink yet another ship. The Brazilian Navy, with a total of six ships sunk, ordered the full retreat from the engagement and to return to port in Brazil. The Spanish only lost two ships, not including the three cargo ships. The Spanish Captain, now on board the Cataluña, ordered his fleet to full sail towards Argentina to rearm and refit.
[-3 Large Ships from Brazil. -3 Small Ships from Brazil. -2 Small Ships from Spain.]
1. The Spanish Ironclad that destroyed three Brazilian ships.
Upon arriving in port, the Spanish officially sold the ships to the Argentinians, transferring control of two impressive wooden vessels and four smaller frigates. Word of the Spanish smashing the blockade quickly reverberated through all three countries, and the world. Many in Spain felt a sense of pride once again, the once glorious Spanish Armada once again proved its worth on the high seas. Never, the Spanish felt, that they would bow to a foreign power on the high seas. They once ruled the waves, and if, only for a brief second, they felt like the ruled them once more.
